Slowly making progress stripped the forks down and I am in the process of cleaning up the fork lowers. Then will be ordering new seals, oil and bushes. Work on the bike is slow as I'm doing bits as funds allow.

It has been a while since I last posted but the bike now has new tyres, new chain and sprockets new brake and clutch fluid and will be booked in for its MOT for this coming Friday

Shame about the photobucket stamp ruining the photos - good work!
I need to go somewhere I've not been but won't know until I get there!

It OK it's not compulsory mate - just super handy as even if the outside host screws up, if its hosted here it will always be here in the thread. (Many forums suffered when photobucket made their original stupid decision)

Well the bike failed it's MOT yesterday. My own fault I suppose the person that owned it before my dad had installed an LED rear light that has integrated indicators and apparently it was changed a couple of years ago so that these were not allowed. I should have researched the requirements before taking it but assumed it would be okay.

Ordered a set of indicators and once fitted will take it back.

It also received an advisory for front brakes binding slightly so will have to strip the callipers down again and take the pistons and seals out to check for anything obvious.

The only other advisory was that chain was a lite tight but I triple checked it and when it was on the side stand it has 30mm of play. He said it was a little tight when sat on the bike. I have jack up kit installed does that make a difference?

Well got the bike out the garage to take it for it's retest and it had a flat battery so retest will have to be another day. I assume I have a battery drain somewhere in the system the only things that I have disturbed is the wiring in the headlight bulb when I removed the forks and had to remove the headlight, the indicators and I also installed an LED flasher relay. Will have to get the meter out and start problem solving the electrics.

Do you have an alarm on it?  No?   How old is the battery/  I'd be running a multimeter & load test over the battery (after it's been charged) to check it before looking at 'drains' on the bike.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

Thank you I will check voltage of the battery and then check the voltage during starting and then the voltage while running

Yes the Jack-up kit can make a difference. I remember this coming up on the old org, there was an explanation, but indeed with a jack up kit it does tension the chain more than standard. I'd suggest add a couple of mm to slack on the sidestand and then check slack once sat on your 14
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

Thank you will make the adjustment
