Me too Grog but I can live with the black. The exhaust is coming off tomorrow to be replaced by a K2 twin system that I've had stored for about 15 years. I unpacked it all today to check for rust but it's still in perfect condition although covered in grease.

The Ventura rack is definitely going to Marketplace but I'm undecided whether the crash bars go or stay. It's so original that it even has the original safety warning tank stickers that everyone peels off.

I've still got those stickers too, I only left them as no one else does.

Mine are still there. Original   :onya:

Years ago worked with a car painter, he always said take the fuckin stickers off the new panels you lazy (short word, started with C ) I said it's the painters job. So I deliberately left them on. Still he went on. Next time there was a new bonnet with the parts sticker on it I put a new 24g disc on a 7inch sander and removed it for him. He didn't ask me again. ( He did see the funny side, we all got on well)

I got the other painter too. He had a nice Chevy Blazer but the bonnet had an old repair and was a bit shitty so he ordered a new one from the States. Very proud of his new American bonnet he was. It was still in the box but he'd opened one end. During the day I'd come across something with a little gold 'Made in Taiwan' sticker, I couldn't help myself. I snuck it onto the underside of the bonnet. That night after work we were all having a beer in the paint shop when we had the big bonnet reveal. About 6 inches of the bonnet was out of the box and I say " mate it looks Taiwanese" he's  like fcuk off it's genuine. I let him find the sticker. I thought he was gonna burst. He was gunna have piece of the parts guys. He was seriously becoming apoplectic. I had to tell him before he lost it. Every one else thought it so funny, him not so..... but it was poorly made, Taiwanese would most likely have been better.
Enough on stickers, I like them it says original.
Sorry to hijack your thread

Stickers still on tank on mine. Great story Kiwi 😂😂 Givi crash bars Snapey, i like them best of any, unobtrusive and there just in case. Paint them, hardly notice then. I changed them again from pic, used dark grey Hammerite, look good to me.

Today the new bike was introduced to the bike lift & the first job was to remove the 4 into 1 system. While I'm waiting for parts the rack will go & sorry Grog but even with a lick of paint those crash bars are ugly and going.

New header pipes & collector have been fitted but the mufflers stay off until the gaskets and LH footrest arrive ... hopefully tomorrow.

When you get the twin pipes on paint it red & black then it will be right.

Hooli

Aye make it a slower one till you get used to a 14, then repaint it blue n white.

Is the header pipe different for the 4-1 as opposed to the 4-2? I didn't know that.  Then again I have an akro so...

Having said that I will need to make a new header arrangement if I end up fitting the turbo to my bike and I suspect having an existing headers to use / cut / modify would make that job a lot easier.   Would you sell those (or are you only going to sell that exhaust as a whole system) Just thinking out loud here.  Maybe PM me, as I don't want to hijack your thread. :)

There's a very slight difference Mike.

All are double skin ... stainless for K5 on and chrome for K2 to K4. The difference is in the bend angles. The stainless pipes 1st bend from the head isn't as acute as the chrome ones thus giving slightly more room for oil filter removal. The 2nd bend on the stainless is then more acute than the chrome to compensate for the 1st bend.

BUT ... the end result is a 1 to 2 degree difference in the total bend angles with the stainless pipes pointing more to the ground when fixed in the head. The collector with header pipes clamped & bolted in position means a slight misalignment at the head but the copper crush washer should compensate. It did on my K5.

I forgot to say Snapey, that is one beautiful bike. Agree crash bars chrome look stupid. Superb buy. Id even consider swapping mine for it.Probably not really.

I really had no idea but a search of old posts tells me it sold (gave away) on the 17th July 2021. You can do the maths.
