or fry your chips at home wrap in paper and tuck them under the seat, head to your picnic spot and enjoy. Even enough room for a bottle of HP if you so desire

I expect better planning than that from someone with the rank of 'Road Warrior'!

Wrap them in foil & shove on top of the downpipes behind the oil cooler to keep them hot as you ride there.
