There's an old saying. "if you've got a ten dollar head, wear a ten dollar helmet"  :whistling:

Needless to say I've always bought the best helmet I can afford. Last one was HJC RPH90C flip. It's comfy surprisingly light and has a high safety standard.

P.S. @Hooli I've never worn a second hand helmet.

Hooli

I view them as a hat to keep the wind & rain off.

If I was that worried about hitting my head I wouldn't ride most of my bikes in an open face. The only reasons I've gone for an expensive lid really is they fit & still fit years later rather than falling apart rapidly with the miles I do.

I was happy with the old Shoei 2nd hand as it was perfect with no scratches etc so can't have been used as a football etc.

DP1400

Likely as not a Rolls-Royce is safer in an accident than a Fiat Punto - but it doesn`t mean I`m gonna buy the Roller. Likewise, I like and trust my mid-range HJC. I would never buy a top range helmet, because they all meet a certain safety standard of one degree or other. The thing I won`t do is ride in an open face helmet :stir:

Roo

Always had Bells from late 60's   ,switched to Shoei in eightys  !

Running an X11 for last ten years , which the experts say should be replaced ?????   Nah ! not a mark on it.

grog

I rode 40 plus yrs with open face. Last year got flip up, dont think open faces have moved off their hooks since. I did have $800 Shoei, hated it, gave it away. Totally no sideways vision one problem with it.

Dusty ST

Picked up my engine cases from the painters, they've been vapour blasted and coated with clear Ceracoat. All a bit of a learning process, next time I'll spend longer preping the surfaces, and getting rid of the small dings that show up.
I also thought the finish would be closer to OE, but as above it's a bit of learning curve...

Since I'm no longer messing with bikes and riding them I had to come up with a new hobby apart from photography to keep me busy. Man knitting seems to be the answer :imrgreen:

I'm going full steam ahead with paracord designs and in the process of setting up my own e-company selling them. Paracordia-UK. It's early days yet and I've got to get a website designed and online before I launch it properly. Fingers crossed it goes to plan.

These are just a few ideas I've been playing with at the moment. I did a one off poppy for Remembrance Day too.

Froudy, just remembered. Her biggest sellers were sport club ones. Footy teams mainly. Just a thought. A GSX 1400 one?

As a keen LEGO fan, I really like those LEGO characters. Id buy a bikie version with a GSX1400 or Suzuki "S" logo for sure.

Or a long legged Darth Vader would be cool too
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

froudy

Thanks guys, some encouraging comments there.

@grog  A Suzuki "S" one would be possible, but hand painting an "S" that small would really test my abilities as I'm definitly not into micro painting.

@GSXKING It does keep my fingers nimble, but plays havoc with my Arthritic thumbs. After about two hours of knotting I have to pack it in on a bad day.

@Eric GSX1400K3 Darth Vader Lego heads are stupid money to buy and that's if you can actually find any for sale anywhere. I'll have to look into finding some tiny Suzuki "S" decals that I could apply to the bodies of the figures.

I've ordered these beads at great expense and I'm waiting for them to arrive here.

My weekend. Still finishing my old pool area. Shoveled and barrowed 4 metres of dirt yesterday, over 30 degrees, hard work. 1 metre to go, spread n mulch, plants and 70 sq mtrs of turf to lay. Job will be finished. Jack hammer footings, cutting off steel posts, dumping rubbish, new plumbing, carting old deck timber, stairs removal. Been 2 yr and $6g job. End in sight. 👍

@grog

Doing anything in 30 degree heat, bar lazing by a swimming pool with an ice cold tinny is hard work for me :rofl2:

On another note, the "Beads" arrived yesterday and the quality is superb. Tied this one up for Father in Law last night :boogie:

Just how it is Froudy. Much better than the cold stuff you blokes get. Always a beer at days end.
