Hi Vlad, Here's what I finally ended up doing at the rear. First off wired the indicators using the adaptors which is obviously very simple and just leaves the red wires to deal with. I removed the female bullet connector from the left hand indicator red wire and soldered it to a male bullet connector. I also soldered an additional wire to this connector (black as I didn't have any suitable red wire). On the other end of the black wire I soldered another male bullet connector to it. This then connects straight into the right hand indicator Red wire female connector.

The other bullet connector which has both the red and black wires connected to it pushes into the back of the large spade type connector from the rear brake light (black/white wire). It pushes in nice and tight to make a good electrical contact but can be pulled out again without too much effort.

The front is the same idea but the red wires connect to the positive of the front light connector.

Hope this helps.

OK so I am about to do this and am having some trouble envisaging this part, even with the photos:

I sort of get it, BUT I have a  complication in that I I need to tap in three times to the brake wire - one each for the indicators and one for an additional top light I am rigging in the top box.

I cant think of any way to do this without cutting into the loom itself which I'd much rather avoid.

@VladTepes Cut into the wiring on your new lights rather than the bike loom then, you only need one feed for the brake light that you can then split as many times as you need.

Well what's done is done BUT I have an issue wit the indicator plugs.

The adapter wires with a suzuki plug on one end and bullet terminals (F) on the other) do not seem to plug together.

Or rather they seemed to once but now not at all.

The ones that were on my previous indicators worked fine. These new ones don't click into place though - don''t seem to make a connection at all.

Here's a comparison.

Left - old indicator
Right - new adapter wire

An Ebay link to the ones I bought, as pictured at right.

The other picture shows the plug on the bike loom itself.

So, have I got the wrong adapter wire or what?

froudy

They look like they should fit ok.
Make sure the pins in the bike loom plug aren't bent at all. Also maybe tweak the metal parts in the new ones you've bought. Just do it carefully so that you don't break anything in the process.

Good Luck :onya:
Assumption is the mother of all fuck ups!

Vlad, they look correct. No idea why wont plug together. You only need to tap brake wire once, then distribute wherever. Solder extra wires etc. Buy a distribution block. All will work. I like the GSXR indicators on Froudy bike. Bloody hard to find and bloody expensive. At least they would be visible. I trust my stock brake light, LED globes now, not worried about extra brake light included in indicators. Froudy, any idea of model your lights came off?

Hmm, not so sure. The left original connector has one male that goes into the two female prongs to make the connection. The rh one from your new indicators has the same two female prongs, so they cannot connect. The shape of the outer connector housing is ok, its the internal prongs that are the issue.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Hooli

It looks to me like the 'slot' for the male connector is lower down within the body of the multiplug.

I had a real close look, was a bit slack first time. Doesnt look correct to me. Vlad, 3RD Gear in Melbourne sell the right ones for $16 for 4.

@Big Phil  did you get the front ones with the running lights built in?

Phil or anybody - do you know what wire I could tap into for the running light?

Big Phil

Yes I did Vlad. Mine is a K2 so the headlight doesn't come on automatically. I connected the running light to the sidelight bulb wire (brown wire I think) so the running lights work both in the sidelight switch position and the main headlight switch position.

If your still not sure I will open my headlight up and take a photo.

Hooli

I don't think the convict spec bikes have a front sidelight, I don't know if they get the wiring anyway.

Big Phil

Oh yeah, I forgot Vlad is from down under with dodgy heritage 😂

If there is no sidelight Vlad then connect into the main headlight wire and the running lights will come on as soon as the bike ignition is turned on.

Hooli

I suspect they'll go off when main beam is selected if you do that though.

Big Phil

Ah! I assumed that the low beam headlight bulb would be on continuously as it turns on as soon as the ignition is switched on. Bit lazy on my part didn't think about the high beam. Need to find a +12V supply that's constantly on when the ignition is turned on, preferably in the head lamp. Of course if Vlad's bike does have a sidelight bulb then he can use that as I did.
