@Globalrider , the quote is £50,21p for the year, less than a pound a week and that's with 10yrs no claims discount (NCD), fully comprehensive cover and other additions, quoted by Carole Nash insurance.  :boogie2:

So... how is it that your insurance is so cheap over there?
What value are your bikes insured for?

From what I gather the rate of bike theft (well, of 1400's at least) is higher there than here....

In my experience, every written renewal quote is significantly higher that in the previous year, at my last renewal they wanted 24.5 per cent more :furious:, when nothing had changed! For that reason I always call them, and for the sake of 5 mins on the phone i get it for either the same as last year or slightly cheaper!! Works every time.

A tip is to re insure 20-26 days prior to your renewal date in the UK because that is the time period when the most number of insurers will be prepared to provide a quote through your broker, therefore the competition for your business is at its greatest.

Its surprising the number of people i talk to who don`t verbally challenge their insurers over renewal quotes, and the insurers luv `em!

Well I have to say that's always been my experience until this year. I have my car insured with Lloyds as they were the cheapest last year. I got my renewal quote (due Dec. 22nd) and it's £20 cheaper than last year and I can't find anything within £40 to match it. Bike insurance with Bennett's for £75 (due Feb 2021 for renewal) fully comprehensive with zero no claims discount, hadn't insured a bike for 10 years. Would be happy if that is the same as I thought it was very inexpensive at the time.

@VladTepes , my bike for insurance valuation is £5k and our insurance cover is divided into 3 categories
1 fully comprehensive
2 third party fire&theft
3 third party only
( notes: third party relates to the insurance company)
When applying for cover you answer all the usual questions (to long to list), then you get questions which are optional , I.e pillion delete, additional legal cover, clothing, helmet and boots, breakdown cover so on and so forth which will bring down your costs. The biggest advantage is your No Claims Discount (NCD) which works from your second year . Each year you go without making a claim is added as a bonus to your renewal for the next year meaning it comes down in price, most insurance providers add this up to 9yrs on the forms but you still add them on ( I'm on 10+now hence mine is £50,21p hope this helps.

So, let's see... you sent all your criminals (bread stealers and so on) to a country with sun, surf, wide open spaces, mild winters, beautiful scenery, deserts, rainforest, reefs...

Meanwhile you stay at home drenched with rain or shivering in the snow and unable to ride bikes for a chunk of the year.

How's that working out for you?

Great thanks, we don't have evilly hot temperatures that stop you riding bikes most of the year (anything over 25c in the shade), we've got wildlife that doesn't try to kill us & don't have to drink Fosters.

No one drinks Fosters in Oz. Its all exported. Victoria Bitter is our fave beer, its crap.

We only started to dump our undesirables in Australia when America closed the doors, so you were actually our second choice.  :whistling:

My family moved to Australia in 1965 from Liverpool, Mum and Dad travelled as skilled migrants on ten pound tickets. "Ten pound Poms" Best money ever spent I think. I've been to visit the UK a few times and it's a great place for a holiday.

Devitts couldn't beat my quote from Carole Nash, who managed to beat their original quote of £50,21 down to £47,41, so happy days for me just have to get my bike back together again (weather permitting). :boogie:

It's that time of the year again my insurance is due for renewal.
Carole Nash who I'm currently with asked for a renewal of £92.22, when last year was £47.21, with Zenith.
So on the comparison sites I went and got these quotes. :computer_type:
3 quotes ranging from £85-£72.
Asda £62.
All quoting Zenith as their cheapest insurers. :confused1:
I am currently waiting on be-moto to e-mail me so I can negotiate with them.
Lastly I'm going to speak with Carole Nash directly to see if they can match last years quote.
On a sidebar as of 1/1/2022 insurance companies now by law have to offer you a like for like quote as if you were a new customer, they can no longer sneak in higher quotes hoping you won't notice. :boogie2:
