Just looked up the price of that oil, it's 2 - 3 times dearer than the stuff I use.   (Gulf Western Synergy 3000)

Can you mix the new and old formula  ;)

@Notty are you satisfied with that oil? I use it for last 12tkm with no problem, shifting gears is quieter than using motul 5100 and much cheaper.

Smoother gear changes than Motul and Silkolene IMO  :)

Cheers Irish thats a very good point - I Knew you shouldn't mix different brands and types so I guess this may be a problem - will order a 1 ltr on FleaBay to be sure  :bugga:

Lost now, but back on old forum i experimented with around 6 or 7 diff oils. Results all posted but lost now. From memory, Motul was worst gear change, most expensive also. Silkolene 2nd worst. Stupid 4 litre containers made them expensive, always needed a 1 litre top up bottle. Have trouble remember other brands tried, Penrite, I liked it, 5 l bottle also. I settled on Gulf Western, best gear change& clutch action. Using a long time now, very cheap for Aussie buyers also. And Kiwis, nearly forgot that bit.

Depending on how the bike is used it can be a good thing to change the oil more frequently. What I have noticed between UK and Oz is that in the UK the engine will not run as hot and if used for short trips may have a tendency to go milky with condensation. I have never had this problem personally but have seen it in other's.

I seem to have lost interest in bikes but I have to be doing something so this is my next project.
