Hey Guys,

I've seen here and there on the forum that some of you are bandit owners. My mate wants a to buy a 2007 Bandit 1250N (I will post some photo's) and I wanted to hear your thoughts on the bike?

It has been modified to allegedly produce 100ft/lbs of torque which seems like a lot, was wondering if there is any problems associated with that?

My mate loves my 1400 which is why he is considering the bandit as a cheaper & sportier alternative.

20hp gains from a quality exhaust were fairly common on the '96 model so it's probably within the spectrum.

`96 was totally different engine...

Quite true, however, both models were rated a touch under 100hp which probably but not necessarily, would crank a few extra ponies from the extra 100cc added.

The Oil cooled Bandits are great fun.
Mad fun to ride and clown about on.
So easy to take to GSXR specs and beyond.
I'm a huge fan.
Sold one in the UK, even owning a Busa and B-King I bought another in AU.

I have no interest in owning the watercooled version.

The original spawned thousands of Streetfighters and stunt bikes.
It was a proper hooligans tool of choice.

The wet one was never anything special.

The 1400 is top for torque, comfort and classic looks.
The early Bandit 12 is top for clowning about on.
The B-King is top for naked Suzuki performance.
The Busa is the ultimate petrol heads go-faster bike.

The Bandit 1250 really isn't that special.

I have 8 big Suzuki's and there's 5 more I want.
The wet 1250 isn't on either list.

I'll go along 100% with what Tony said above. I've never been a fan of the watery version. However the one in the photo you put up @Dan B does look very tidy. A good list of upgrades too :onya:

I own both a 1998 Mk1 B12 and a GSX1400. I always  thought the B12 was a heavy bike..Until I bought my GSX1400. By comparison the B12 now feels like a sports bike to ride. Mind you..
Mine isn't standard :imrgreen:
Assumption is the mother of all fuck ups!

I remember back in May 2000, folk were taking Busa's to the drag strips, lots of folk were running turbo / big bore GSX1100's, 1135E's, GSXR1100's etc etc.

No one could run in the 7's with a street based bike.

Up rocks Brock Davidson on his nitrous Bandit.

7.97 in the quarter.
Job done.

well that's a pity, he was pretty keen on the bandit as he thought it was a good affordable alternative to the 1400.
But maybe he will test ride it and fall in love anyway  :whatever:

Mate , never owned or know anything about Bandits. Rode a late model one, really didnt remind me much of 14. It was a Suzuki so i liked it.

They have their fans, I know folk who are very happy with them and think they are great.  Maybe I was a bit harsh, they aren't a bad bike, they just aren't that special.

I went to buy a Bandit in 2002 but when I sat on it I discovered that I needed O-legs to get to gear shifter and rear brake. Then I was shown the 14 (not heard of her before) and fell in  :smitten: Even the fit was just right  :boogie:
