Sometimes it's the little things that get you. I've been reading reviews on them and everyone says they are great, but the Gen 1 bikes don't have a fuel gauge. Who was on the committee when that decision got made? "Let's make a really expensive bike with a huge thirsty engine and a small tank, but leave the gauge off."

Bizarre.

I'd still have one though. A red one.

Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

What other colour is there for a Ducati  :confused1:

Quite true, although for some reason Ducati make them in other colours. This year there is one in "Iceberg White" (which is just "white" if you don't work in marketing). Nice though it is, it would be red for me.

Now my old car has gone so I can get my 14 out the garage again I thought it was rude not to enjoy the sunshine up here today.  It's now ticked over 124k so needs yet another service plus a back tyre.

I'll park it up for a bit soon as I when I strip the oil cooler off to change that seized fan I want to treat the pipework for surface rust & repaint it for protection. By the time that is done it'll probably be snowing....

Went for a ride over the Kaimai Range to see my father in Cambridge. Said before, its about 80k each way. Nice Sunday arvo ride. It was windy, getting buffeted pretty bad. Pleased l wasn't on a lttle lightweight.
Got the headlight flash from the coppers going up the Kaimai's on the way home. No ticket so that was pretty decent of them. Heeded the warning and backed off a bit.
Arrived home to the smell of dinner....bless her.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Ordered this from FcMoto fro my Schuberth C2Pro - £225 cheapest in Uk - paid just £153 plus £6 p&p  :)
Only want if for listening to music - calls whilst riding are too dangerous, I have hands free in my VW Tiguan but even that distracts you so unpaired my iPhone from it :)
The older I get the better I was
The problem with retirement is that you cant take a day off

Notty... I have the same kit in my GT Air... it works well... I like being able to connect satnav, music and phone at the same time and use them in that priority.  Share your view on calls... Even with the Bluetooth setup I never accept inbound calls, and pull over to make outbound calls.

I just sing the same few lines of a song to myself until I start telling myself to shut the f**k up as it's often something stupid that I don't even like.

Changed the oil today, as it's about a year since I did it last.

At the risk of starting another what-kind-of-oil war, I went fully synthetic this time. Yes I know the 1400 doesn't really need it, but I found this Shell Advance from Opie Oils at £21.95 for 4 litres. That makes it cheaper than the Halfords semi-synthetic I usually get, so really it was an easy decision. They sell filters as well so I changed the filter while I was at it.

Also cleaned and lubricated the chain. My god that's a job I truly hate. I tried EP90 gear oil this time, as recommended by the gentlemen of this forum - let's see how well it sticks. I'm just avoiding the inevitable here though, unfortunately the chain is quite rusty (not my fault, the PO covered it in black grease before I bought it). The MOT man didn't like it, he said it looked like something dragged up off the Titanic. Although to be fair he didn't write it down quite like that on the form.

That's a great deal but you know you need 4.8ltrs to do an oil and filter change .
It'll be interesting to see how you think the bike feels with the different oil in it .
only a slightly modified gsx1400
oh and a standard one too
