Well i have a go pro 3 great bit of kit but a bit on the big side to use as a dash cam i also have a very small dash cam and its brilliant !... when the card is full it just re records over the top starting from the earliest recordings and so on ....
But the down side is there not waterproof and the go pro is ! Amazon have a huge collection to choose from £10 to £110 .
i intend to live for ever or die trying !!

I have a €30 cheaply, has waterproof case, bought 4 batteries off ebay with charger for €12, change them after 1.5 hrs.

Not Holywood quality but more than good enough for me. Have bought another to fit on the rear.
If you are going to run out of fuel, do it in your garage.

It's only a short walk to the kettle.

I had used a cheap helmet cam for over year when I was riding.
I had an accident and the poxy thing didn't record the accident so liability is still dragging on!! :jack:
I've seen good things about the innov c3(spelling).
When I get my gsx1400 on the road gonna get a front and rear "dashcam" on the bike and a helmet cam.
I've seen those drift cameras seem the best.
I was never a fan of those go pro shape on the helmet. Those bullet shape ones seem the best to me.
Don't skimp on a cam if you can as only need one accident and it will pay for itself 10 times over :onya:
That's why I've got a front and rear dashcam in the car. Cover me arse everyway!

I've been using an SJ4000 with 32Gb memory card for the last three years now. It cost me around £35. Full HD and the results speak for themselves.
No need to spend silly money on a GoPro.
Be careful though as they are some really nasty cheap SJ4000 copies out there and they are crap.
I usually ride with it lid mounted, but decided to rear face it for a change in this clip.

OK, for dash cam purposes DO NOT use an action camera of any kind.. You will very quickly tire of wiping it and fitting and removing it and you will very soon realise that an action cam of any kind is just not practical.. I use a GoPro which is amazing for riding vids but i would never rely on it for dash cam purposes...
So, what are your options??? Someone mentioned the Innov V.. Thats a great bit of kit and comes with front and rear cams.. Not sure about your laws but here a rear cam is not quite as important as ANY rear collision is never your fault and so would never be argued.. My current choice of dash cams is this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nextbase-Ride-Motorcycle-Bike-Cam-Video-Camera-GPS-HD-1080P-IPx6-Waterproof/302005464322?epid=1541972471&hash=item4650edad02:g:zlYAAOSwanRXgWKt
The Nextbase ride is a wicked product and you just fit it and never need to worry about it.
So if i do stuff all all day and noone sees me do it.. Am i still a lazy git?

But only 4 hours recording - and it looks quite bulky as well (plus it won't fit to 28mm handlebars like my Triumph has with its standard mount, and a RAM mount has nowhere to go with the screen on). I like Nextbase products - have them in the cars - but whilst this looks good, it's just too big for me. Currently I have twin GoPro 3's, but am swapping to the Innov V with 128Gb of memory which stores a heck of a lot more and is less obtrusive.
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

I was very close to purchasing the Innovv system as barmy has said above - you can set it up to continuously record on start of your bike, fix 2 cameras that are small and unobtrusive and is GPS enabled. Great way to cover yourself. I didn't end spending the $$ because I no longer commute and could not justify the expense.

grog

Thanks fellas, have taken notice.

Tony Nitrous

I'm in a couple of ride groups where they are "banned".
No one is welcome with one.

Might be OK for commuting but I don't want one around me on a Sunday.

I suppose they could be used to incriminate the user on a SUNDAY  :onya:
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

First thing the police do is confiscate the memory card, chap went to prison for two years a little while back based only on his own camera evidence.  If you are going to use one you have to be squeaky clean or you're just inviting problems, I like the idea but I don't always stick to the speed limits so do without.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

point taken. if i got one, think id be in trouble very easily. thanks for that. idea now canned.

Yes but he was daft enough to include his speedo in the picture  ......mine is so mounted that it doesn't pick up the speedo at all  :onya:

There are a dearth of places to mount a camera on a GSX1400.
