Sorry! yes, I was referring to the 'pinch' bolts, having said that I may have 'mounting' bolts as well  :onya:

Chopped the yoshi system down - kept the original sleeve, bought a carbon one from PJEngineerring - always oversized, as usual - tacked a 1mm shimm on before the sleeve went on 110>112mm.

400mm. Better look than the 550mm of the original.  Bit more bark, quite a nice note - not the demon howl of the supersport but for a bike that doesn't rev, not a bad sound.

Quick blast out for a listen/feel - 50 or 60 mile from home, oil cooler gets a deluge on.. limp home, new cooler from ebay & 240£ lighter. Happy Days.

Oil cooler? they all do that sir! Bottom left corner at a guess?

Reminds me though, next winter I need to get the oil cooler pipes off, de-rust & repaint them as they are getting manky & I can do without breakdowns.

Yup that's where they all go, no idea why it's always that side. I'd guess it's down to oil flow, maybe that side is the input so it suffers a bit more from expansion & contraction over the years.

Sometimes rhyme nor reason Hooli...  Both my xjr1300, run hotter in pot one, (left) always the pot to be more tappity -take the rocker cover off and that corner is a different colour to the rest.. Why? direction of oil flow?

I did think maybe the 14' rad, drains out, it's on its side stand, condensates in that corner, corrodes.

Or maybe it's the leprechauns at the bottom of the garden doing it?!!

Or maybe it was just all under a bit too much pressure and it went pop when I decided to finally show a clean pair of heels to that fcuking annoying GS rider bitch [is there any other kind?] who thought he was the next -as-yet-undiscovered-hero-of MotoGP...

Today I take apart SV1000 calipers, which I got last week.

What  the hell!!!  ???
Never seen brake fluid in this condition.

Otherwise, seems calipers and pistons are in OK condition.

@northern , That's water in brake fluid. That happens when you store your bike out on back yard and forget to change fluids.
I'v seen those a couple of times. Normally calipers are OK after cleaning and new fluids.

My lass isn't well enough for us to use my 14 for a weekend near Aberdeen from tomorrow so we're going in the car. Obviously 14 heard her say that as it played up yesterday. From cold the clutch only disengages for a few secs before it pulls away on it's own. Pump the lever a few times first & it behaves for the whole ride.

Guess I'll be stripping hydraulics down next week then...
I don't know if it's lost fluid as it was dark last night when I checked, I'd got in at 1am after a blast home across the Snake Pass. That's so much easier with a LED headlight so I can see where I'm going.

@Red Biker
it's an interesting idea, Red... :confused1:
In case I would build a showroom bike, I would do it. But not with bike I'm planning to ride.

To be honest, I'm even considering to repaint them black...
In total, I'm thinking of "new" colour scheme. Not going away from white, but replacing most polished details with black and white... And some little blue touch...  :stir:

but this is plan for future winters... Brakes will be just first step.
Or they will same gold, as my 6 pots are.....

Anyway, calipers casings are at soda blasting and hope to get them back this week.

IF I had a second 14 I'd go white tank and body with everything else Metallic Black and Red callipers  :smitten:

Black sounds nice  :whistling:
