Chap killed a burglar in his house and has been arrested, should have been given a medal for getting rid of a lowlife scumbag.

He's been let out on bail this afternoon .hopefully it get put down as an accidental death as if they hadn't tried to rob him they'd still be alive .
It's a shame 1 of the robbers ran away tho better to stop 2 from ever robbing again than 1 .

I have a story very similar to that old bloke, so I can sympathise with his situation.
Same sort of shit happened to me, years ago. Difference is I didn't kill him, 'fairly good hiding' though. He wanted to press assault charges against me, then cops found out he'd been telling them lies about his id etc, so they gave him another hiding as well. Nothing ended up happening about it.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

if he was in the states he'd be a bloody hero !!... there's a lot wrong in America but there's a lot right too including being able to defend whats yours !

He would have been pleased to see you were only a little bloke Col.
Got woken one night neighbour and his mate had got home to find scum trying to get seats out of mates car. Most of the noise was mate telling my neighbour not to kill him.  He got in a bit of trouble for using excessive force.
It all just seems so wrong not to be able to protect your family and property.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

You are able to protect yours' as well as others. Just have to pay some heavy price for that at times. Even in the USA you are not that easily off the hook. You still have to prove that you did not use excessive force to protect yourself. You might be a hero to some but not to "Baba" in prison (who just sees you as his slut).

Not quite sure what your supposed to do ring the police who will come for a statment in 3 weeks time in the meantime give them a hand to clear you out !!!
I wouldn't hesitate if some one broke in my house as far as im concerned its me or them !

Calm down, they've released the pensioner on bail while they check out his story. Nobody is locking the old bloke up, but the police have to do their job. Bear in mind that someone died, they have to check it out and make sure his version of events is the right one.

On the face of it it looks like legitimate self defence, but I'll wait and see what the investigation turns up.

no affence ment to any one i get a bit wound up on this subject ive been cleared out twice when i was down south , and the police just treated it as if it was just more paper work to do ! and the second time they were more interested in a tyre on the van that was borderline than the fact i'd had 2 bikes and all my tools nicked !!!
ok...ok...ok calm down !! take a valium .... thats better

And now the scums family are saying he was a nice chap (with a criminal record).  If you break into someone's house at 2 in the morning armed with a screwdriver it's not unreasonable the owner is going to protect themselves, he got what he deserved, no question.

We had the same up here a couple were killed when they hit a tree on a stolen motorbike a few years ago but their family and friends were saying what a lovely pair they were .
Again criminal records as long as your arm and the worst was they had 3 small children .
Scum breading more scum not working but a house full of the latest stuff.
If I ever catch someone in my house in the middle of the night I'll be going to jail
