You can get a high temp epoxy 'glue' as well. Safe for engine temps (285 degrees c from memory) & not bothered by petrol / oil either. Sets in 5 min, can be filed / drilled etc.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

Hi thanks for adding me. New to this stripped down the bike looking for a pair of pipes to go on my 02 any ideas.

Thanks

Assuming you want to retain the wheelbarrow look on your K2, maybe look at the range of cans from Beowulf, well made, not stupid money, I had a set of Tri-ovals on mine and was very happy with them.

Another option are Blueflame

These are just a couple of examples, plenty of choice out there with Growlers, Delkevic etc - any you have your eye on particularly?
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

Remember you'll also need a left twin pipe rear footrest hanger a set are for sale in that section of the forum .
Later models down pipes are better than early model ones and all years will fit as will collectors .
After market pipes and collectors are available .

Google is your friend so is eBay.

Can find headers but do any end cans fit or are they all different

seth

Aswell as down pipes you'll also need a 4-2collector and link pipes for the end cans you want to fit .
If your K2 is standard part from the exhaust you should have the correct exhaust and footrest hanger.

The problem with retirement is that you cant take a day off

I'd keep the Akra, more power & a bit lighter which you can feel flicking it around in bends. I'll admit twin cans sounds better though.

If that's a full system like mine you'll need down pipes too & selling that setup would probably pay for what you're fitting. I think mine was about £800 new in 2002 according to the receipt I got with the bike.

EDIT: If it's got a PC3/similar to suit the akra it'll need a different map for twin cans too. Although you could just run it stock & sell that as it'll be fine with just non-standard end cans.

Went for a ride with a mate to a bike meetup place about 35 miles away.
Whilst drinking my coffee I noticed the bloody back wheel seemed very near to the ground.
Yes you guessed ... A puncture.
The tyre only had 6psi left in.
I hadnt noticed anything untoward on my ride....
Soooo
Luckily I have under the seat a " Stop & Go" punture repair kit complete with mini compressor.
No nail sticking out...Just a small hole in the centre of the tread.
It was simple to use and plugged the hole very well.
The compressor took 5 or 6 minutes to reach 35psi.
That was enough till I got to the garage to top up.
When I got hom I wet around the rubber mushroom plug area and very small bubbles were appearing.
The point is the bike got me home just fine..
In fact I would have been happy to ride home from a greater distance and check pressures every 50 miles...

After watching a youtube "howto" I suspect I didnt pull the stem of the mushroom hard enough outwards to seal the head against the inside of the tyre. Hence the small leak.

My local tyre guy is putting a permanent vulcanised repair on today.
Its certainly well worth keeping under the seat.
Recommended.

We carry a picture repair kit and a can of tyreweld under the seat of each bike .only use once but got Emma home from Newcastle(300 miles as we couldn't find a place who would repair it there)the kit we have leaves the tyre inseparable so a new tyre was needed but it got her home .
If we'd have been further away or mid Europe it would still have got her home .
I'm happy to use a plugged tyre if repaired by a professional.

Top tip, but also - big round of applause to the Suzuki designers who gave us a massive under-seat storage area. It's amazing what you can get in there.

I've used plugged tyres a few time with no problem but they have always been professionally fitted mushroom plugs from the inside of the tyre.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick
