strange way of thinking mate. your 14 will keep going no probs. end float on cams, my old gs1000 had that noise. never worried it. rd350 after a 14, would be like living in a tent after a luxury house. your choice mate.

Hey Mark. The throttle doesnt jam in the rain on a 14 like the early RD's did. Bit spooky riding those little suckers on the kill switch !!
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Mine ticks when cold and has done since I've had it, 9 years.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

Early RD,  air cooled. Bloody quick in their day. Throttle only ever jammed in the rain.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Solved the noise tapits adjusted exhaust valves were out of spec sounds sweet now and only cost 150 with balancing

Veemanzero

If it ain't ticking it ain't working. Sure you can shut them up by running less clearence but your valves won't last long before they burn out. If there too gappy it will cause exsesive wear on the valve train, but that's going to be more than just a tick.
