Hi Dave,
that's not taken long before the 'modding' started  :clapping:

How's the back holding up?

Cheers
Nigel

Actually the exhaust is more for looks and weight than anything else, couple of hp makes no real difference, but its so much lighter than the stock unit.

Oh....and its sounds better LOL

Back is doing so much better with the Tex, with its more upright riding position. So much so that I'm now able to ride all day without my back brace on (which I couldn't do on the 14) so for me making the swap has been justified. Still miss the 14 though, would have liked to have been able to keep that as well, but funds just didn't allow.

Tshh a man of your Years still making cosmetic changes! You're the Mrs Stallone of the Triumph world 😀
Many a Donkey has lost its hoof on the rocky road, don't be that Donkey!

now your a retired old man with a less active life you could try eating less pies lol  :rofl2: :stir:

You been speaking with Mrs Barmy Seth? She's just put me on the 5:2 diet (although this week apparently its 4:3). Diet day today so just 800 calories, I could murder a pie right now!  :rofl2: Think I might have saved enough calories for one bottle of beer tonight (I stupidly showed her notty's post and she said - right then! )
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

Glad mine doesn't read these posts, else I'd be on a 4:3 diet as well!  or maybe 7 day straight!   Could do with it though, 135kg now.   It's the beer that does it I reckon.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

Blubber

Mine mostly sees me smirk when reading the org.

She is used to that. No way I am telling.

No diet for me. Am only 111kg but have the length to wear it athleticly  :mwink:
Wreck-it Richard - one of the unDutchables

Kiwifruit

I'm on two diets........just don't get enough food on one !!
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Beer is 90% water, water is good, so i drink lots. 4 1/2 yrs ago i was 100 kg. Only 175 cm tall but big framed. I gave up sugar, except beer. Lost 18 kg in 3 mths. Havent deviated but steady at 86. Now check sugar content of everything, has become normal. I miss ice cream but havent had one. I even gave away my beloved 100 kg size leather jacket. Added 20 bhp to my body and best of all 14 is faster. 😂

northern

had 14 dyno tuned today.
Stock filter and full Akra. Not perfect, but better when before.

BLUE - taken last year, before I get Autotune installed. As I remember it was some map from dynojet webpage.
GREEN - it's what I had achieved with Autotune. Can't say, I was trying much. Measured today, before tuning started. Red header pipes are from this run.
RED - today's end result, after 100€ investment to local bussines :) (actually, guy is running small shop as a hobby, but he is the only one we have in Estonia)

KiwiCol

Thanks Northern, looks like AutoTune can do a very respectable job then. Nice.

Andre

What is the significance of the red header pipes? In my layman-understanding this can't be good. On a turbo I would expect it though. Also, shouldn't all pipes be red hot, I only see 2 (# 2 + 3) glowing. Looks to me like a mismatch between 1+4 and 2+3.

KiwiCol

I think they are all glowing Andre, just different light, 2 & 3 are a bit more shaded so show up the glow more.

You know, I start to doubt, green was the absolutely done by autotune... Looking on time, it may be top end was already slightly edited by tuner... Please don't judge me hard  :notworthy:

I know, top revs on my 14 were lean, and red (hot) pipes are because of this. And @Andre , you absolutely right, it's not good at all :)

northern

@KiwiCol  you are right - 2&3 are more in shadow. Aslo phone camera HDR mode may mess with real light. They were more red, but get cooler during a time I grab my phone to take a pic.

Andre

Thank you both for the clarification with the light.

Anyhow, the bike appears to be well tuned now!

Powercommander and Autotune are not an option to me, as they are illegal in Germany and I am an obedient boy  :whistling: Still, I am interested in this stuff. However, I wonder if PC and AT are worth it, even if they were legal. Directly adjusting the ECU on a dyno by a Suzuki specialist would cost 300 €. PC V and AT cost 400 and 360 €. Then having to run a dyno to get the optimum takes even more out of the wallet. Makes no sense to me unless someone enlightens me further.
