There's a LOT of MT03, 7, 9, 10's around here.
Not my thing but they do sell well.
Yam got that market right for sure.

I'd love to see a new big Yam, even a Sports Tourer, as that paves the way
to a big naked as bikes like the Hayabusa, ZX9R, FJ1200 have done.

Downside to modern bikes is the combined safety nazi's and gadget obsessed public wanting an abundance of gadgets, toys and features. Everything from ABS, traction control, anti wheelie modes, to multiple engine modes, launch control, back torque limiters etc etc that just add to the cost and complications. Modern bikes are amazing, but even something like a 10 year old Busa or B-King, if it fouls a plug in the morning, I'm going to miss that days morning group meet, not an issue with a GSX1400. I had hopes for the old MT-01 but the reality was disappointing.

I think the days of big simple motorcycles are over, fingers crossed I'm wrong.

What was it about the MT01 that put you off Tony?  Small tank? Lack of HP?

Yes.

I admit I'm not a huge fan of V-twins but for its size it lacked any real punch or top end.  I haven't ridden one with a stage 2 or 3 kit but the ones I've seen weren't a great improvement. They also suffer from "stupid small fuel tank on a big bike".

I personally see them as a Lifestyle bike, like a Harley, not a riders machine.
Maybe a 15ltr tank, on a 250kg bike making 90hp just doesn't suit me personally.
