Quote from: grog on Friday, 07 August  2026, 04:03 PMFood looks good, all my favourites. Today I bought thermal printer, no more buying ink. My Chinese airhawk arrived, seems ok.Put it and gel together to try, looks stupid but if it helps the hips not caring. Will also try on its own tomorrow.

Thanks. We aren't very adventurous so my wife often has a steak sandwich, and I love bangers and mash. I guess being boring gives us a comparison pub v pub.

I look forward to feedback on the seat. There's a place near me that does sheep skin covers but I'm doing my homework on other options too.  One of my bikes may end up with some luggage and a seat upgrade if I can make it easily reversible. I can suffer it not looking pretty if it works well and I can change it back for local use.

Update re airhawk, I put it under the windrider mesh cover, and it pushes me further into the tank,  so no good, but, this is static test, havent ridden with it yet.  Will try, then put it on top.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

yup, instructions say if you can just feel the air transfer when you move around its probably good.  Tbh i haven't been able to spend enough time on this.

Tomorrow is trial and error day. Ive pumped just enough to stop arse going to bottom layer, arse and bottom layer, not sure i should have written that.

Mr Gee

Could double this up with what did you see today.

Well, yesterday actually, because yesterday, I saw Notty and his new Tiger 850, which looks even better in the flesh, than it does in the photo's.

On theme, bought Notty's crash bars.

Test rode with gel&air seats together. Far too high, tips me forward, heaps of weight on arms.Helps hip cramp. Try just air seat tomorrow 🤞

Put my airhawk on the outside, and let some air out. Static test feels ok, not pushing me too far fwd.  Too wet to ride today.

Keep letting air out until you think it's not there then increase by tiny amounts. I was truly shocked how little air they need. Had mine on for years.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

I don't have an air hawk, never have had one, but the airing for these seems to cause some issues at the start, so with that in mind, how much air would you say you've put in yours Col?  50ml? 100ml?  150ml?    Just thinking if new owners had some sort of starting guide as to how much air it needs to be effective it'd help.  It could be measured by using a large syringe (I've got a few I use for different things - cheap as)
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

Irish in Oz

I have looked at the air hark in the past ended up buying a gel one.
Was wondering if there is much change in pressure as the day goes on, particularly in Oz as there is big temperature differential between morning and afternoon.

 forgot about that...is that why the water goes down the plug hole in a different direction now?  :happy1:

You're getting a bit technical Col. Too much air and you roll around on it feeling very disconnected from the bike. They only need to be just above flat, when you sit on it that little bit of air spreads throughout the cushion. So easy to put more in, I'd say you soon know you've put too much in.  If you needed even more padding I guess you could always just up the pie intake.....
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎
