I don't know pressure volume etc. I found if you press air bubble with thumb, can just reach the bottom, seems ok.

Today my new vac gauges arrived, all good except adjuster valves that go in hoses are 90 degrees not straight through. This will kink the vac hose. My question ,do I really need restrictor valves? They are just to stop needles bouncing? My thinking is if I do need to restrict them, little cable ties around each hose would work? Good thinking?

Yes, ya need the restrictors Grog.  Just a thought, if they're right angle and you want straight, how about cutting them at the elbow and inserting the 2 smaller pieces into the line?

Ya could of borrowed mine, it's just sitting in the shed and never gets used anymore . . .

Not sure what Welsh Cakes means? Thanks Col, I reckon my cable ties around idea will work, it's to just restrict air flow. Good work on Rocket👍Can remember 2 mate talking about that job.One thought easy, other hated it.

Mr Gee

Well, the theme is what did you buy today and I bought Welsh Cakes.

I'd post a picture but they didn't last that long.

I dont use the restrictors on my carbtune pro afaik. I balance the tbs at 1500-1600rpm, theyre pretty stable then.

Zip ties would work too I reckon, but you need to ensure they're done up the same, otherwise you'll restrict one hose more than the other.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Not sure restricted more matters, it'll still draw same vacuum.Just for steadying needles🤷🏼??

not quite, pressure drop across a venturi varies with the area of cross section, the narrower the gap the lower the pressure and the faster the air moves.

Eric, you & I must have the same balancer.  I remember the instructions for that said the restrictors were needed and had to go in 1 end of each tube at a certain point.  You probably put them in and forgot about them, ya can't see they're in there once fitted (from memory)

Yeah probably Col, memory is not what it used to be. Makes me want to go check now, otherwise my ocd will keep me awake.
