A SuperStart Battery Lithium LH51913 with 600CCA of goodness for the Bavarian Mistress.

Load tested the existing odyssey metal jacket thats in there, and it showed 9.5V at cranking, plus it let me down at the servo last Sunday.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

600cca will kick her over goodly Eric, why don't they make more motorcycle batteries like that.  600cca is an arse kicker!  :onya:

Almost but not a purchase !

Had a look at some Border Collie pups.
Age, colour, location, price etc etc were all right.

Sadly I didn't want a long haired version and they'd sold the females so only 3 males were left ($300 cheaper than the females)

I stood there cash in my pocket but knew they weren't what I wanted.

It was a hard sale to walk away from.

I do keep an eye on the local RSPCA and rescues rehoming. Not struck on a Collie, we've had a few to work sheep years ago and I do like them, but I think deep down I'd prefer another Red or Blue Heeler. Haven't ruled out Kelpies either, but a Heeler is a bit more solid and rugged than a Kelpie or a Collie.

Ooh, tough call Tony, here's our two lads: Arlo is the 2yo chocolate and white, Baxter is the 4yo black and white.  Before that we had Bingo, a female BC, our best dog ever.

Arlo is a kelpie bc cross, a bit anxious and highly strung, but has a gentle side too.  His herding instincts are very strong. Baxter is more chilled, but don't get between him and his tennis ball. Both are very smart and they are best mates, even if brothers from different mothers.

And both very cute. The B&W one is looking very inquisitive 🧐

Best allrounder I've ever owned 👍

Yes, I have given Arlo the same "WTF" look a few times.....

Hooli

I grew up with BD crosses, fantastic dogs who are more intelligent than most people.

Just realised I snapped Bingo in that same photo.  We love our boys and yes they are smarter than some people we know.

My father is / was a sheep farmer in the UK.
Always had Welsh Border Collies with the exception of a Labrador gun dog.

One of ours was bred from a dog that competed and had been on TV. It's all we had for many years. Proper working dogs, some not allowed in the house. Had to have short or single syllable names, Tess, Meg, Gem.

Neighbour had two working Collies, he only ever spoke to one in English, only ever spoke to the other in Welsh, both dogs knew what to follow or ignore. Both dogs followed a whistle command and knew if it was for them or the other dog.

Smart dogs.  I'd say smarter than Heelers, just not as tough or independent.  Great dogs.

My equivalent would be "Lenny". I didn't name him, he was 4 when I got him. I wasn't after a dog at the time but he came into my life and we were rarely apart for the next 10 years.

He's the benchmark any dog is measured by. Much as I love my current dog, and he's better in so many ways, I still miss Lenny. (I think he was named after Lenny (& Carl) from the Simpsons.
