Nothing yet, but I have a guy coming round next week to quote on a 3m or 3.5m by 8m extension to the side of my shed.

Also saw the town of Nanango today. Out of the house at 5:30am to drive in the rain and dark to be there by 7. Did their 5K parkrun. Still a fraction off this years best and a minute off last years, but it was nice to run somewhere different. Done the local one about 30 times.

I have an ap that locates the nearest one. So far I've done the 9 nearest now they are starting to get over 100K's away.

Just renewed my UK passport, there's 4 parkruns in Singapore that I normaly fly through if I visit my parents or go to Thailand or Cambodia. Running in their humidity would be a challenge!

Running  those days are well gone for me ... to much damage to spine etc .. even walking a few hundred metres has me in agony ..

Got a good mate living at Nanango, we've visited twice over the previous few years. Beautiful 5 acre property.

I looked at acreage there. I liked the place and the area. It was just a bit far from the city at the time, and that funded our move. Not getting any younger and I did get rushed into the nearest hospital at Kingaroy that wasn't great at the time, it's improved since.  I still get up that way as if I'm riding near the Coopers Gap Windfarm or the Bunya Mountains it's part of my loop. The hot topic was if they were going to extend the power stations coal mine closer to the town a while back.

Doc tells me not to run, I should cycle or swim, less impact on my joints. It's not something I'm good at but a challenge I enjoy.

I was running a 27 minute 5K / 3.1 mile.
Last year I ran 31 minutes, this year 32 minutes.
Never really bounced back from heart problems and Covid.

Nanango.

Haven't seen that, only been to the RSL in the town. Mates place doesn't lack for sheds. And the colourful birds are plenty 👍

Yeah, pretty standard sort of place around here. 5 to 25 acres. As I get told "too big to want to mow, too small to farm".
Popular blocks for horse owners.
Just nice to have a bit of space and no close neighbours.
Councils are a lot more understanding too.
If I was moving out of Brisbane in a year or two I'd be looking at Nanango or similar spots.  Mrs drives to Brisbane most weeks, not unusual for folk where we are. Nanango is just a bit too far, but that gets you more for your money.

The bucket is on the left side of the road as most folk drive in heading into town from the south.

We once owned 20 acres, with around 8 being a mixed orchard. 100 year old house and big sheds all made out of Jarrah sawn planks ... I couldn't estimate what the cost would be to reproduce it with today's costs.

I tend not to regret decisions because it's enabled us to do what we have now. But ... some space bigger sheds would be handy now. 😁

Was at Nanango last week, Mates funeral unfortunately. Reckon it's a great town, bit of size but not too big. Not allowed to move there, too far from grandkids.

A set of firebricks for my log burner.

$326.58c.

I didn't need a full set, I'd swapped them around and put the broken ones flat and stood the good ones up, they still worked. Could have left them or just ordered a few. Either that or get them sent out then wait and then see if they sent the right ones, so I went and fetched them.

250K / 155 mile round trip.  Was a nice drive, now I have several spares.

Nice old girl next door who's husband passed away had reverse-cycle aircon / heater put in so told me to bring the Ute round and load up her log store for free.

Fire bricks weren't cheap, but I've been toasty warm on cheap or free logs for a few winters so I'm not complaining.

I didn't see a military artillery gun in a park so I'll go back and get a pic for my collection.

Mates talked me into buying a chain alignment tool.Havent needed one ever. I measured 14 once, oem alignment marks matched perfectly. Anyway, for 10 bucks got one, not the fancy laser type, just the bolt on clamp with rod. Today it arrived, off with chain guard, set it all up, chain was perfectly aligned. Into the tool box, where it will stay. At least i now have the cleanest chain guard in the 14 world.  :boogie:

Might be the best 10bucks ever spent mate. My eyeball alignment is getting blurry with age

I have a 1000mm straight edge that I normally use, agreed the oem alignment marks are usually spot on
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

I got some louder speakers for the new intercom, they arrived this morning & don't work. I've already returned them.

As I had the originals out to try them, I thought I'd try the spacer pads behind them which get the speakers closer to my ears. I tried them originally & couldn't get my ears in, but they fit fine now? I don't recall trimming my ears at all. But it's worked so I won't be reordering the expensive replacements.

And further shopping done today, I took Quinn as her handbags make like easy.

Oil & filter for Snotbox as it's due in about 500mile.
Several cartons of orange juice.
New gloves as I found a hole in the palm of one Tesday, the left hand surprisingly.

Oh & a bacon, cheese burger with onions. I'll be buying a couple of beers at bike night soon too.

Do you go for short or long gloves ? , I prefer the shorter ones, even in the cooler weather.

Sounds yummy but without the burger just the bacon.

I recently bought a Bluetooth speaker set up for my helmet, mainly to use for directions as I get bamboozled easily 🥴

Biker vision is the brand, just an advert on FB, $89 and probably the best $89 I've spent! The sound is excellent, nothing tinny about it, good bass and stereo effect. Easy to operate with gloves on.

It did take a couple of try's to get the speakers directly over my ears, that is super important !

Yep, very pleased with them.
