These comments always surprise me as I like the standard seat. If you want an uncomfy standard seat try a ST1300, it'd shame an ironing board.

The XSR900 was exactly, the same. It was like riding a bike with square wheels, across a ploughed field, sitting on a plank.

I did a 2 day ride this week, another loop ride, this is the last one I can do locally, Top of the South Loop.  570 odd k's lots of windy roads involved.  The Rocket went superb, just awesome overtaking power on tap all the time. Managed an average of 6.3L / 100k's over the whole run.  That works out to 42.85mpg in old money or another way, 15.87k's / L. Recorded the whole trip in 2.7k, I get very clear stills off the video using that too.

Stayed overnight at Havelock, (Mussel capital of NZ) love that place!  Good motel & a pub within close walking distance, win all round.

I must say though, doing 2 days of 4-4.5 hours riding sure took it out of me, must need more seat time to get ride fit again.  I was bloody knackered when I got home yesterday.

GSXKING

I've been fortunate enough to be commuting to and from work on my GSX, around 90kms/day Monday to Friday.
The morning trip at 4:20am isn't as arduous as the homeward bound trip. I'm always on guard for the tradies on mobile phones and school Mums reaching back to smack a naughty child.
No weekend riding as my BMW rear shock lost all damping on the last ride. It felt like riding a pogo stick 😵💫😵💫.
I'm having the shock upgraded with the Wilber's kit and of course none were available in Oz, so a slow boat from China has eventually arrived. I'm assured I'll have the bike back and annual service complete by Wednesday as we're riding to Warwick on Saturday for a friend's 60th birthday 🤞🤞🤞

Col those consumption figures are impressive for such a big bike and rider. Plus there is no substitute for ride fitness 👍
I guess you'll start a separate thread for the other pics ?

Best allrounder I've ever owned 👍

I didn't really take many pic's Chris, just a couple parked at the Motel & 1 inside the pub.  Suppose I could get some stills off the video & post those, but they're riding ones, not scenery.

OK, so some stills off the video.

Brakes all done . So thinking of a ride out for breakfast tomorrow (sun),I was looking at a bike stop called revs on the fosse, on the A429 between moreton in marsh and shipston on stour, more the shipston end I believe. Looks very nice from what I saw on a clip somebody posted on Y.T.  :onya: .

Kiwifruit

Went for a 20mile bimble this afternoon just to blow the cobwebs out mainly to test my brake refurb (all is well). Biking to work this week as my cars off the road for the week got to replace upper and lower control arms both sides as they've gone. Hopefully good weather this week.
