Quote from: MickyJB on Monday, 23 February  2026, 01:37 PMA ride to Williams via Dwellingup on Sunday. 360k of nice Country roads. Morning tea at Vergone Farm Cafe and a bakery lunch at Williams, pie I'd rate highly, not so the tasteless vanilla slice. My wife makes the best so I may be biased.  :whatever:  :smitten:

Nice ride that on MickyJB.   When I'm back in Oz this weekend, I might do the same loop.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

First ride today, after hand surgery five weeks ago (Dupuytren's contracture). Just to work and back (60kms), but nice to be on two wheels, even if hand a bit sore.
Likely do the same tomorrow.

Took the R3Gt to Karamea & on to the start of the Heaphy track & back. Filled before I left & the light was on when I got back, said I had 30k's left, just as well I rode sedately after the ½ tank.

I'm very fond of Karamea...I've lost count of the number of times I've said to my wife "I could live here", and she's looked at me as if I've lost my mind!

Weather looks atrocious.

I don't know how you guys cope, down there.  :confused1:  :happy1:

Aye, it was a great day for riding, 22 degrees all day, seems to a sweet spot for riding, not too hot & not too cool, just comfortable the whole time.

I dug the HD out & rode it to Squires & back as I've not even seen it since mid Sept when I threw a blanket over it. It still works, after a couple of mile to wake up. Took a few secs to fire & smelt of oil as it caught too, that might be my fault from last time I oiled the K&N or it's just American crap...

I tell ya what, it's still shit & uncomfy which is why I parked it up early as I was bored of it. I can see it going & not being replaced if I don't rebond with it when the weather improves.

Looked comfy Hooli, obviously not.

It's nowhere near as comfy as a 14. Feet forward with a worse ride means you feel all the bumps in your spine & you end up slouching so get backache from that too. I thought they'd be more comfy before I got one too, but the novelty is wearing off.

Plus I still can't get the rear tyre I want, no Avons it's size in stock anywhere. Everyone had said they were going to be available by Feb, I'll have to keep looking.
