I liked the standard seat, so it'll be going back to that shape but a different cover. Nothing too flash though but I've got something in mind.

I do like the lightning bolt custom paint.

The way you ride, potentially call it "The Flash" 🥹

I don't think they were, but I found it on a 14 FB group. I've a feeling I'd seen it about occasionally but no idea where. Speaking to the guy though he does ride to some of the same places I do so that might be why.

Not sure Hooli about liking standard seat. Prostate biopsy or standard seat, nightmares for me. 😎 Idid get over both👍

Good to see you back with a 14 Hooli, they sure are hard to put down

I'm not convinced that it won't see bad weather though, look forward to the Highland pictures that you post late December/early January with six foot of snow either side of the road!

I've got a snotbox for that now!

I'll do it a proper thread when it gets started but I've found a local polisher so once it's in bits I'll get the following done so everything matches -

swing arm and gubbins around the axle
torque arm
engine cases
rear calliper carrier
rear brake & gear lever

Thinking sprocket carrier too, or is that overdoing it?

Forks, pegs, peg hangers etc are all done already. If I find anything else missed I'll add it to the list, so it's finished. Currently looks a bit half done to me.

The list of stuff I'm doing it now includes the advancer mod on the back plate, as I've decided to take the cases off it's daft not too while in there.

Doubt I'll touch it this weekend, already got other plans that were booked before I bought this.

Hey Hooli, would you like me to ask that Norton owner where he got his topbox, just in case you wanted to fit one.   :rofl2:  :happy1:  :happy1:   :onya:

Ta muchly but I've actually got a full Givi set for a 14, 46ltr topbox & 43ltr side cases. I just need to get the frames blasted & powder coated again as they're very scabby.

Hooli, stainless sprocket cover i reckon looks good on 14. Mines over a decade old, still perfect. IMO.

No ta, can't stand those sorry.

It's got a stainless top yoke cover that's been painted, that might be coming off too.

# Pulled the plastics off the DRZ to see where the air filter, battery, horn etc were.

# Put a spare Quadlock mount on the B-Kings bars.

# Made room up on the mezzanine to put the GSXR400 rolling frame and maybe the GSXR1100 rolling frame if I run short of space.

# Measure up for another Roll Cab tool chest, not huge as it needs to go under the bench. I have a few but I'm changing all my tools over to Kincrome so I'd like to keep them together.

# Cleaned the DRZ.

Had a nice lazy day in the shed doing nothing important.

Bike just a day off. Whole house screens, windows, channels cleaned. Looks superb. New helmet, new Dell monitor, one day sale, $400 to $129, total bargain.Productive day

I sorted snotbox's crap rear brake today, now it'd got dirty enough I could see it was only using half the disc on the outside which confirmed my thought a piston or two was sticky. Pulled it apart, cleaned the crap off the pistons & worked them in & out a few times. They move nice & freely now. The idiot before me who'd fitted rear pads hadn't cleaned them before doing so & had left the retaining pin finger tight.
What an absolute utterly stupid design of calliper though! you have to take three bolts out with an extension bar through the wheel to remove the back of the calliper so you can pull it off the retaining pin to get to the pads. It works, but FFS it's obviously done that way to increase labour costs for the first owner or two.

I also filled the oiler, adjusted the chain & muttered about how crap Pilot Road 6 tyres are. They ride great & grip in bad weather but the rear was half worn when I got it & now it's almost illegal in 2.5k of sensibly ridden miles. That's the tyre life I'd expect of something stupid & sticky not a 'touring' tyre, it'd be bald before you finished a fortnight away. Should just scrape the MOT that's due mid Jan as I can get it done next week & price up a replacement at the same time, I think I'll put the same again on to match the hardly worn front as I prefer a matching pair to give me confidence. Once the front is gone it'll get a pair of something else though.

Got to say that I like the Pirelli Angel 2. Good enough grip for me, wet or dry and good life expectancy, too.
