Dull axle threads?   Humour me here, who the hell looks at axle threads?  You can only see them if you remove the axle.  :confused1:  May as well say it's got 'dirty' piston crowns, so it's not clean.

It's the discoloured bigend shells that really let mine down.

that's looks great. I'd be worried if I got my wheels done like that it would make the rest of my bike look really bad
It's a slippery slope. That and the fact that I can't help myself are exactly how I've ended up where I did with my bike recently. You'd be surprised how hard it was for me to not end up with a bare frame

Probably because I didn't get the bike new I want to make it as good as I possibly can.
Who looks at these things....I do  :undecided:

Not so much my bike, but my helmet.
A while ago when I was down south collecting the R3GT I got a massive hit of truck wind, so much so it came into my helmet via the chin breather, lifted the pinlock away from the rest of the visor and deposited dust in between the 2 sections.  Took me ages to work out why I couldn't clean the bloody annoying specks that reflected sunlight.
I pulled the pinlock bit off today, cleaned both sides of each bit & reassembled again.  The pinlock was damn hard to get out & basically sealed around the edges, but that wind blast got in there. I noticed the chin breather has vents aimed directly at the visor, presumably to keep it clear, but there can be a downside as well.  We live & learn.

There's plenty of tutorials on YouTube Col for removing, cleaning and reassembling for every brand of helmet with and without pin locks, (best invention ever).
My HJC is very easy. I can do it at work if I hit a bug storm. 🦟🦟🦟

Best allrounder I've ever owned 👍

If you didn't notice Col, the pins for the pinlock are eccentric. You turn them to adjust the fit, maybe it's set a little loose on the visor so the wind was able to lift it?

I had one lid years ago where they adjusted themselves, I ended up getting it set right & putting a tiny drop of glue on them so they didn't turn. I glued on the outside so I can could still remove the pinlock if needed.

Eric GSX1400K3

I take the visor off the helmet and flatten it as much as required, Pinlock just lifts out. Visor holes are octagonal i think, allows the eccentric pin to be adjusted abd stay.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

KiwiCol

The silicon bead round the edge of the pinlock had stuck to the visor most of the way round, that's what made it hard to get out. I know the pins are on a cam arrangement for tensioning it, but with the edges being 'stuck' it didn't make any difference.
The visor material isn't as flexible as say my GT Air visor was, this Nolan N100-5 has a fairly rigid visor & it doesn't feel like it wants to flex much at all & I didn't want to snap it.

Job done anyway - till next time it happens :onya:

Not a 'did' but a 'will do' once I get awake enough & have breakfast. Taking 14's wheels out today & driving to the tyre shop to get the new Avons sat in my hallway fitted.

Sounds good Hooli👍Stick with what you like. My prob will be, had Angels forever but new type are apparently crap. Choice?? Dunlop Roadsmart or Michelin 6. Im so reluctant on Michelin, 3&4 were very bad, also had Dunlop Elite which were terrible.Avon are hard to come by here. Something to think about, hopefully original Angels still around.

The old type are readily available (at least here). So why not stick to the old and proven to work for you? Cost less too.

I most certainly stick to what has proven to (excellently) work for me.

grog

Agree totally Andre👍 Old dogs dont need new tricks, bananas and strawberries work fine on breakfast cereal😀
