Nice cycle, but dunno why a cruising battleship like that needs a quick-shifter,

Fly by wire bikes changed my opinions of quick shifters.
A 2 way up / down shifter with an auto blipper is next level, and being able to tap and change between regular and sports shifters etc.

Today I bought my morning mug of coffee and a bacon and egg roll. It was quite cheap.

I did spend some time looking at white / blue final run 2008 GSX1400's for sale though. I haven't talked myself into it yet but they are the 14 I've always fancied. My favourite model / colours.

Yep, I'd have one of those too, just to keep the K3 company in the garage, of course
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

At ~320kg wet weight (without rider and pillion passenger) you've got 0.53 hp/kg (based on rwhp), maybe slightly more at the crank to play with.

Internet says 57hp/100kg,  ~180hp/225Nm @4000rpm, so accounting for drive train losses (20%?) in stock form you'd have 144rwhp or thereabouts. 170 rwhp indicates 204-205hp at the crank, not too bad.

The bloke selling it says it has a Penner Tune & she's putting 170+ RWHP with a crank HP of 195 region.  Only using Sport mode, the other modes are basically stock. I know nothing about these sort of tunes, but from reading up, I see it's entirely possible and even more is obtainable, not that I want any of that at this stage.  I'll be taking it cautiously on the way home till I get a feel for it.  Reckon that's a fair way to go about it.

The quickshifter is just a nice addition, real nice.    Why?  Why not?

As long as the bike stacks up in the flesh, I'm on it, and happy about it.  :onya:

I saw one moving along last week, sure can go. Theyre getting 10.6 1/4 miles on stock bikes(139 bhp). Unrestricted, remapped are up to 176 on dyno.160ft lbs torque amazing, our 14 are 92.Give it respect Col😀

KiwiCol

Absolutely!  Got no intentions of whipping it till I feel comfortable with it, which will be a while cos, I'm an old fucker . . .

Was riding ze Beeeemer on the weekend, a new bike joined out group, a R18 being ze 1800cc boxer like zis one: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_R18

For all the sheer bulk and presence of this machine, having 90hp and 158Nm seemed a bit low, but it did hustle along. Built for the torque I guess.

grog

Certainly not built for looks, about 2/3 of Rocket torque, i cant understand why actually spend money on it😵💫🤷

Nice looking rig, do ya think I'd fit in the sidecar?  probably not, I'd have to have the bike.

If I was unable to hold a bike up I'd ride a rig, but never a trike. Trikes are cars, no matter what the parts are from.

I had a leaning sidecar to get around the stupid uk 125 laws, it was basically a wheel with a fibreglass top that could lean, now a full on sidecar leaning over could be interesting
