Rode my Hornet to work again. Once I remember to wind it up to silly RPM it's a right laugh.

Bought a new USB/C socket for the bike to charge sat nav/mobile, mesh comms etc. as old one went rusty and no use.  Wired it up and nothing? existing sat nav wiring used and now that wasn't working either!! FFS must be a fuse but no everything else was ok - horn, stop lights, indicators, bike started ok........ah after an hour or so tracing wires , I remembered I have Heal Tech thunder box fitted which protects against short circuits and that had tripped -reset and all well with the world.  :)

That reminds me Notty, I must fit the USB sockets/voltmeter I got for the Hornet about 3 years ago...

Thunder Box, had a read, looks a good idea to me.

Hooli

I thought a Thunder box was very different down under?

Notty

the system tripped because I wrongly assumed RED was POSITIVE , but apparently not  :bugga: :bugga:  :bugga:

Good job it's not a bomb you never cut the RED wire
only a slightly modified gsx1400
oh and a standard one too

Now why on earth would you think the Red wire was positive?  Not like it's an electrical convention, oh wait a minute . . .

That's mental!  Who the hell would wire something using red wire as Neg!  Bloody morons!

correct, and "resetting the thunderbox" involves a completely different skill set I would think
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Got me scared you blokes. I have to fit new pressure regulator to my compressor. I hate messing with 240 v. Hopefully a few pics from old one will help. Bombs and red wire wrong, im a bit shaky, will be super shaky first try.

KiwiCol

Get a few Coopers down ya first Grog, just to steady the nerves mind . . .
