Had two sunny days & nearly 8c temps so I've been out on my 14 all weekend. I had planned to change brake pads at both ends & wash it ready for the MOT but went out instead as I didn't feel like doing anything useful.

It got changed Col too many people could see through the bullshit. It's now referred to as climate change, you know..... hot, cold, night, day. Don't worry just keep paying!!
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Not working today so I planned to get up early enough to wash 14, fit brake pads at both ends, replace the clutch fluid, adjust the chain & get her in for a MOT.

What actually happened is I got up late, it pissed it down, I did all the jobs with the rear pads being last & discovered the 'complete set of pads' I had on the shelf was two front sets. The local parts place didn't have any non-sintered on the shelf so they are getting some in tomorrow. I'll order the normal make I use & put them on the shelf with the second set of fronts that are still there.

As there was no point rushing home having ridden the Hornet to the parts place, I stopped at J&S chatted to the lass I know in the burger van & had a late lunch.

Speaking about brake pads......
I have a confession to make. Wasn't going to mention it because I am embarrassed by what I did. But because I did it I thought others could too. Fitted new pads both front and rear, pumped them and had a firm pedal and lever. Went to see my dad, off over the Kaimai Ranges and about 65 kms later arrived at the junction of State hway 1.
As I applied the front brake the lever passed where I should have had pressure.  I was not going fast so pulled the bike up using only the rear brake. I stopped on the other side of the intersection stuck it on the centerstand and inspected the front brakes. To my horror I noticed I had totally missed the locating hole in one pad, this allowed the pad to move and the pistons to twist.
That's my confession off my chest.
Note to self.....Pay Attention  !!

owww, that could have been nasty Col, lucky escape on that one.  Did you manage to fix it on the side of the road or at dad's place?

Fixed it there and then Col. I do carry a few extra tools on the bike. Yup, lucky.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Similar when i 1st got mine. Fully checked, serviced at Suzuki shop, perfect they said. Caliper bolt fell out first ride, others were loose. I then found lots of other adjustments wrong, suspension settings diff side to side, loose throttle cables, etc etc,  it was a long list.

Good save, well done.

Nothing so dramatic for me, just fitted a sport rack, made by a firm in the UK called TEC. They do a lot of stuff for royal enfields as well.

I once lost that pin, no idea if I'd forgotten to tighten it or what. Lucky the bobbins are big enough on the discs I've got fitted that the pads didn't fallout. They were making a nice clacking sound as the pad hit every bobbin though.

Nothing very exciting but taxed & insured my 14 for the year, Suzuki insurance (by Adrian Flux) were cheapest again. £60 Cheaper direct than via confused too.

Went to ride it, battery dead, charged it, rode it and got breakfast, rode some more got a god awfull cup of tea and a kitkat, fell over on muddy grass, looked a dick. Tried to start bike.....dead. Hooked up Noco booster, turned off headlight and started it...yay. Rode down road, remembered to turn on headlight, within 100 metres bike was spluttering, turned off headlight and mostly good, indicators also caused spluttering.
Made it home....just.....battery very dead, new one on order
