Quote from: KiwiCol on Sunday, 09 July  2023, 04:44 PMDidn't @Snapey get some sort of table lift, then modified it?  He's not got a bike now, so may want to move it on . . .
I'll take that.

Quote from: hard road on Monday, 10 July  2023, 01:56 AMI paid just over £400 new for mine in the pic delivered free, made a good profit on a bike I built so treat myself.  ;)
A fair price I think, would be interested in that.

mind you that was 3 years ago  :undecided:  not sure how much they are now, but i use it all the time so worth it

I know I bought mine years ago then Snapey and everyone else that seen it bought one as well.

Playing with the 2-step launch control.

My thoughts........ 🤔

#.... I'm not 100% convinced. I still feel I'm launching harder without it. Possibly due to 45 years of clutch and throttle and just not being over familiar with a 2-step launch.

#.... Still feels funny to be able to hold full throttle on a launch and then just keep it held not backing off,  tapping the quick shifter. Very bizarre to be sat at a set of lights with full throttle and then be way up the road in 3rd gear and never closing the throttle at any time.

I made do with a Scissor Jack when changing the fork oil recently.

Not that easy to see from the photo.

2 small wooden uprights fit under frame rails which is then attached to wooden beam.

As the bike is supported on its centre stand, the scissor Jack is placed under wooden beam, as the front rises and pivots enough for the rear tyre to touch the ground.

There is enough clearance to allow removal of front forks.

It's all a bit Heath Robinson, I use this arrangement when cleaning front wheel.

Not something I would endorse btw 🫤

done the same in the past Milts, they are a heavy bike so its not gona fall of the main stand  :onya:

Somewhere I've got pics of a ST1100 with three breeze blocks riding pillion. That kept the back wheel on the floor with the bike on the centre stand while I replaced the steering bearings.

She is a bit a of a Diva, or thinks she is!

Needs to be prised from its current owner and given a life 😂😂

When I built my mezzanine, one thing we did was to make sure there were plenty of suitability spaced beams to lift from or to slot a pole across to make a back / forward / left / right point to lift or secure from.

Even if I'm using a stand or Jack etc anything that has any chance of going walkies gets a quick strap thrown over the beam to take the weight... just in case.
