First day out on the gsx in the complete dry...

Just a quick question..   The run was a very spirited run shall we say..

When going flat out in a few Gears it seemed if the.bike was pulling back in high revs like a fuel cut or limiter?

seth

was it the past red line
as the 14 does have a rev limiter not sure where it's set at but is above 9000 rpm

No seth not past rev line but defo high up in revs

seth

was it in all gears or just in the highest you got in to ?
have you checked your fuel pump fitlers ?

if you can give as much info as possible folk may be able to give you idea's on what to check.

sound fuel starvation from what you have said so far.

I agree with what you think..  Fuel starvation..

What would be cause of that..
Really online noticed it in possible 3Rd 4th and 5th

seth

i just had problems with fuel pump filter and had my injectors cleaned made a massive  difference. (company listed in the srvices section cost £57 for all 4)
has the bike been standing for a while ?
you could try running some red X throught your fuel system via adding to your fuel.
as a first step .

Or rather than Injector cleaner, run a couple of tankfuls of super unleaded instead
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

I have used this additive couple of times in a year: RED LINE SI-1 Fuel System Cleaner.
And it seems to work.

Agree with everyone, my bike behaved the same above 6000 turned out to be one fouled injector.

David Nolan

Had the bike out today for 250mile round trip.
Added a fuel cleaner doesn't seem to have sorted the problem issue comes into play above 6500rpm..

seth

id try stripping and cleaning the filters on the fuel pump
if you need a replacement low-pressure (ree-bag) filter give me a shout and I'll send you one.
tho mine cleaned really well with halfords carb cleaner .

Guys I took out fuel pump today it was absolutely horrible what gunk was in it..  Cleaned it all up reinstalled and problem solved..  Bike is crisper on Throttle and no more pull back higj up in revs

seth

I've put in a in-line filter between the tank and the fuel pump pick-up
its all low pressures (gravity feed)
will stop the same thing happening again or at least stop it getting as far as the fuel pump filter
glad you found the problem and its running great again
