Been a while since I did some bike time, so took it out today, 256K's.



Parked up outside the ("formerly" - gotta do it right)  Blackball Hilton



I found the ride stiff and 'bouncy' over the rough bits in the road.  Once I got it home I adjusted the compression & rebound of the front & rear, backed them off a bit. Hope she will be a bit more compliant on next run.
It was a good run anyways, plenty of scenery and twisty bits.

Grog, chance would be a fine thing, nope not lost weight, just hoping to refine the ride / handling of it.

It's about 3hours 20min - 3hours.30 min to do this loop. Happy to ride with you guys (assuming you're riding?)   Do you think you'll actually get to Westport? We're a bit off the regular main routes.

FWIW, the adjustments I made yesterday have provided a comfortable & compliant ride today. Pleased with how that went, not to say it couldn't be better, but it's a big improvement and I'm happy with it    - for now.

Out of interest Col, how come needed changing, youve had them a long time. Just being a nosey prick.

Changing riding style I'd guess mainly, bit more sedate & comfort rather than fast & firm.  The roads where I live now can tend to be a lot rougher than 'hot-mix bitumen' roads on the other side of the island. (more people = better roading)

It's good riding roads over here, but the road surfaces can be very uneven with broken surfaces etc. With the suspension set firm, the bike slams these undulations and the tire can leave the surface of the road, which causes a bit of an issue when you're leaned over into a corner & the tire jumps off the road.
I've had many instances where the bike has hit so hard it's kicked me up off the seat & I've felt it right up my spine!, yeah, just too firm.  She's set nice now, more like riding a sofa or marshmallow!
