They really do look like off road tyres

I've just moved onto Pilot Road 4's as my beloved Pilot Road 2's don't seem to be available anymore ... £500 in tyres over the last few months (for the K3 and the K4) ... might even last me until I kick the bucket  :happy1
All the best ... Barry

I paid $580 NZ for Road 6's and $130 NZ to fit and balance both....so just over $700   !!!!  Just what it costs nowdays huh ????/

VladTepes

I presume that was ride in/ ride out. It would be much cheaper if you supplied the wheels already removed from the bike.

I paid $695nz fitted and balanced Roo, though I have to take just my wheels in for fitting. That's what it costs.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

GSXKING

Same price here but in Aus Dollars,  so more expensive in real terms.

I'm pretty happy with PR6's I've fitted to both the GSX and my BMW R1200RT.

Unfortunately they're both due now, so I won't be spending any money on Christmas presents this year.

I used to run Pirelli Angel GT's and feel the Michelins wear better, more evenly and offer superior grip by direct comparison. GSX is now my daily commute to work with the occasional one up ride thru the twisties. BMW is for two up riding and longer rides on weekends.  :hat:
GSXKING 3:^)

Best allrounder I've ever owned 👍

I have a pair of road 5's on the r/b bike I really like them almost as much as the angel gt2's I have on the other bike .
Just never fit
metzeler roadtec se01
they are horrible and scary in the wet .
only a slightly modified gsx1400
oh and a standard one too

See I thought Roadtec were good in the cold & wet, but didn't last & steered nearly as heavy as Slipstones.

Taking her on a ride with the new tires would be a nice Christmas present too  ;)

Tyres a black art subject. Chris, on my 3rd set of original Angels, not sure how others rated better. No slip, wet or dry, no tram tracking, last forever, 18k front, 24k rear.Guess they just suit me.

If you find what suits you, why change it.  :onya:

Applies to lots in life Andre, some just dont realise it. 👍👍

Am about 10K in on a set of Angels probably another 5 left last was a set of Michelin 5s the wear between the two is comparable felt more confident on the 5s but not much between them for me , I will say that the Angel front has kept its shape ( no scalloping ) better than any tyre I've ever used ,for my geriatric riding both tyres exceed my capability by a long shot.
Horse,
Change is easy improvement somewhat more difficult :Dr Porsche

and that's it exactly.

There's a lot of tyre argument goes on (if you think it';s here you should see some of the sports bike forums).

Most people agree the really cheap / OEM tyres are generally shite.

When it comes to all the others, 99.999% of road riders will NEVER approach the capabilities of any given tyre as compared with another brand.

I used to chicken strip to the edge, wear the sides off my boots. Noticed lately, doesnt happen.I guess age makes us more cautious, just happens. Had my house gutters cleaned out last week, first time ive not done it in 30 yrs, same story, not confident on the roof edge. Old age sux.

Out for a ride tonight after work. First ride on the Road 6's. Always nice to have new rubber. The bike rides lighter, more pointy I'd say. Agree they dont look like a road tyre, but they do ride nice.
