I doubt that anyone in the UK drinks Australian Fosters either. No one is going to ship beer half way around the world when it can be brewed in the UK and flogged using the brand under licence.

People here buy into Peroni, Carlsberg, Corona, Stella, Budweiser etc. Thinking it says something about them; Cool? High end product connoisseur? A modern European? Livin' the American Dream?
It's all brewed in Swansea, Burton-on-Trent or up in the North East but the brewers know everyone is easily fooled by branding.

What buying the stuff says is that we are easily fooled, or that it is all that there is at the bar and we have no choice.

When I worked for Westrock Packaging Bristol we printed the multi pack cartons for Fosters.

Believe me that even though Fosters is like f*cking in a canoe.."Far too close to water", it sells in massive amounts in the UK.

In the UK Fosters is brewed by Heineken at the Royal Brewery in Manchester.
