Where will it end ... the money buyers are prepared to pay for a nice low mileage bike I mean.

A nice K7 with 3875kms just sold in Western Australia for $12650 plus $1000 buyers fee.

Good luck to the seller but that really is a lot to pay.
If you look like your passport photo then you're too sick to travel.

Not likely to get ridden much at that money! Speculator perhaps?

Not many bikes get ridden much when you work out their annual mileage.

My first year of ownership, I purchased mine 10/10/2001, I traveled 25,000 kms (I only owned 1 bike that year) Brisbane to Phillip Island 3 times & lots of other touring in a year I took off from working.
I wonder how many owners have had their bike from new ? 🧐

Sophie (II) was 14 when I got her at 6,700 miles

Unless somebody has had their bike from new ,mine was declared new on 01/03/2008. I acquired her on 17/01/2009 with just 494 miles on the clock and I have had her ever since. Nearly 18000 miles now. Hooli is right if you calculate the annual mileage it's not a lot.

My bike originally came from Crescent, I bought it from a chap in Bournemouth.  I've had it from about 4k and it has 34k on it now but I do have other bikes so mileage is low.

I bought my GSX brand new 01/09/2003 so it's just passed its 19th birthday.

There's just over 40,000 miles on the clock so that's only a fraction over 2000 miles per year. That said, it has to share the love with the Z1000 and GTR that I have bought in that time which have 12k and 20k on respectively, plus I've done a handfull of miles on the old Z13. All in all about 73,000 miles of motorcycling in 19 years (just under 4,000 miles p.a.), all leisure, no commuting.

I think one reason that used bike prices seem to be holding up is the lack of availability of some new bikes. I dropped into a Kawasaki dealer with a friend last week, he was after one of the retro styled Z900s and looking to take delivery brand new in March. The salesman told him that if he ordered it right now he'd be lucky to get it in May. It's not the first I've heard of main dealers struggling to get stock from manufacturers. Admittedly the one he wanted was a special edition, I suppose if you are prepared to compromise there are new bikes to be picked up.

I've been on the hunt for a suitable Gen-2 Busa.

A couple of years back the prices started to fall.  After a 12 year run with little change they were getting overlooked by some folk for newer models from other brands.  Along came Covid and the prices went up again.  The market seems to have calmed a bit, and along with the release of the Gen-3 I hoped they might be a bit more affordable again.   It's not happened yet.    Obviously anything with a Busa motor is desirable but the 08 to 20 Gen-2's are still fetching good money for anything desirable.    I do like the Gen-3 but I think the fact that Suzuki really hiked the price has made the Gen-2 still a good option for some folk.

I wouldn't mind a tidy white and blue 08 Special Edition (REAL Final Edition) GSX1400.  Sadly I remember walking passed them in the showroom when they were very reasonably priced but my priorities were elsewhere at the time.  As time has gone on they've grown on me (apart from the ridiculous blunderbus can).

Wow that is a SHIT TON of $

As for mileage, I suspect miles/year are a lot\lower in shitty UK weather than we can put on our bikes here in Australia :)

Our riding season lasts for 365 days.  366 some years.

I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Prices sure have gone up, getting on the bandwagon of everything else. I wouldve thought 6 or 7 for mine, not now. https://www.bikesales.com.au/bikes/suzuki/gsx1400/
