First World problem for sure but I generally hate non-round headlights.
And round ones should be single not two smaller cats eye style.

If I got a DR650 one of my first mods would be to ditch the existing headlight and telace with a round one

Just for clarity here I am specifically excluding the Ducati 916 from this rule. And I say that having seen a 916 with rectangular headlight!

Tradition 7" rounds are a very conservative safe bet.  However I don't mind a bit of variety.   I'm after an 1135E  "Big" round for another project, they are only used on a couple of bikes, 1135, an XJ and 1 or 2 others.

I guess you wouldn't be a fan of most of mine then?
Stock Busa, rectangular ET, twin round GSXR, Streetfighter Busa.

The one I'm after...

The GSX1100E / 1135E / GS1150 had an unfaired headight that was 1" bigger than the SV / Bandit / GSX14 style bikes.  I think they are deleted from the genuine spares list now and used ones are fetching good money.  There's a faired version but it's different mountings and lacks the bowl.

Stock Busa - fine with that as it is integral to the styling of the bike.
Rectangular ET - nope
Twin round GSXR - hmm OK yeah thseo are nice I stand corrected wrt to those bikes.
Streetfighter Busa - nope.

Thinking about it one of the best bikes I've seen (photos) was a gen 1 Hayabusa with custom made fairing in twin-headlight GSXR style.  A sleeper 'busa :)

I think the XJR was the same as the SV, Bandit, GSX14 etc.

The 1135E was an inch bigger, only Suzuki I know of, the two Yam's im not sure of, older bikes, something like a TR1 and XJ650 Seca maybe.

Not easy to find or cheap now.

Busa has always been function over form. I'm sure there are better looking lights and bodywork but the Busa is designed to cut through the air at real silly speeds (although it works well at lower speeds), Busa's are hard to beat in land speed / high speed events. I've even seen a tuned ZX12R fitted with Busa bodywork in an attempt to go faster.

Old clip, but the Busa shape doing what it does best....

So I'm guessing a tuned GSXR1100 with an RGV race seat, Moto-X bars and a Peugeot scooter front as a fairing isn't going to win any fans then ?   :whistling:

Not me but i reckon you do/like whatever you want. I prefer my Corolla over the flash cars i get to drive, I wouldnt mind a 650 Enfield, I reckon Angels are far better than most punk/semi punk bands. I reckon my 14 is best motorcycle. Nothing else to say.

when I lived in South Africa my mate turned a gsxr1100 into a street fighter, we used the original twin head light set up and put it into a bikini fairing that we cut down and shaped.  Looked better than the full faired version imho.  Will try to find a picture, this was 20 years ago now.
