Had a detour after a cafe breakfast.
(in the Toyota, Mrs doesn't do bikes)
Showed the Mrs a few new roads I've been playing on.
Ended up at the carpark at the little Mt Table Top.

I found a few excuses not to go up, big breakfast, spots of rain, idiot dog with me etc. Might go back another day. Not that far from here but I've never been up it.

What's class 5 in convict speak? Is 1 is best and that's terrible, or does it work the other way around?

Eric GSX1400K3

Means hardest to do in irons and carrying the ball is mandatory
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Rain !

Bikes can sit bin the shed for a few days, I'm quite happy being a fair weather rider nowadays.

On the bright side......
Zero risk of bushfires.
All my new plants get a good watering.
All 6 tanks are back up to capacity (141,000 ltrs) so I'm good for water well into next year again.

Yeah, I may give it a go, with the option to stop when I fancy. Did one near Stanthorpe, it was smooth granite that sloped to a sheer drop... nope! Not for me.

Not had as much rain as you. It's enough for folk to ge happy here without it being a drama. I've seen a few burnt areas recently, not sure if they were planned back burning though.

Damn that is more of a climb than a walk isn't it? Don't think I'd be doing that either.

I saw that the local farm store had some point of lay hens in for the first time in ages, so I came home with another 3. Not over impressed with ISA Browns so got some black Australorp cross breeds. I find them less troublesome.

I saw the bloke who might build my carport extension. Did a measure up, discussed a few options and ideas. Waiting for a quote from him. High roof 3.5m x 8m on a concrete slab, with council approval.

Didnt see, but had a chat on the phone to the local lady who runs the Koala rescue. We already know each other. She is after a government grant to plant Koala suitable trees to extend existing Koala corridors localy. My place runs alongside a regular Koala area so I may be getting a heap of free trees planted.

Been here almost 4 years, the jobs haven't slowed down much.
I do feel like I'm making gains on the place though.

Message from the Koala Rescue Society, paper work all done and application put in to get the first 85 Koala suitable gum trees put in.  Fingers crossed. A neighbour is joining in too.

Based on planting in 2 areas that are adjoining a regular Koala corridor, all trees 7m apart. Tractor with a ripper cuts across the area in lines, leave for a while, rip again and plant. Using stakes and tree guards, contract for a water truck to come in if needed untill they are established.

I'm happy to plod along putting a few in here and there, but I can't plant, protect and water that many in one go. Happy to let someone else pay too !

It is...rippers have a single or multiple tines, depending on what you're doing.
There's always room in the world for a bit more tolerance and kindness.
