Oil leak from timing rotor cover  -  I had a bit of an off on a R/H bend dropping the bike on the right hand side.  The damage appeared mainly cosmetic including scrapes to the timing cover.  On the ride back I noticed that oil was weeping from the timing cover. I removed the cover and where the oil pressure switch is located there appears to be a hole to the right hand side of it.  If you tilt the bike over to the right you can actually pour oil out -  Am I right to assume that the impact has punched a hole in the internal wall of the engine casing (presumably by transmitting the impact through the oil pressure switch)?

I can't remember to be honest.

I've been inside that cover a few times & I think there was a drain hole back to the sump at the bottom as it's not unusual to have a trace of oil in there. But I'm not totally sure.

Thanks for the quick reply - hopefully it's just cosmetic damage then  :smile2:

Just seemed a little odd to have an open oilway near an electrical unit
