In front of my house the street got knee deep in water during the day and a bit deeper later.  Water was 1/2 way up from yard - another foot or so of water and it would have been lapping at the door.
Park behind me completely flooded - like a lake - never seen it so high!
Yesterday lunchtime our sink wouldn't drain or toilets flush fully, no doubt due to volume of water in sewers.

A lady broke down in her car and we pushed it into our driveway where it sits now awaiting collection.

Tragically last night someone died trying to cross a road near us. :(

Luckily, rain has stopped now and it has drained away pretty well but EVERYTHING is muddy as all get out.

Having said that, in the city the water levels are still extremely high with flooding along river continuing with high tide - hopefully that will now gradually ease.

Seems rain has moved south - stay safe down there on Gold Coast and northern NSW!
Ottomans: 'Hippity hoppity, Vienna's our property"
...and then the Winged Hussars arrived.

Pictures of the flooding in Brisbane and surrounding area on UK TV - not looking good at all. Stay safe all.
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

My front yard has some very deep grooves in it where my Land Rover was parked on the grass.
Things pretty much back to normal here where I am thankfully, but Brisbane River peak still high. A lot of pontoons from the richer people on the river floating down to the bay, with boats still attached. So if you have a tinny you could probably head out and grab an upgrade.  :rofl2:

I saw that on the news last night.  Did they end up securing that floating crane barge? That would have hit the bridge if it has lost its moorings.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

VladTepes

Yep they managed, and indeed lucky they did.

I wasn't aware of this at all. Obviously due to the Ukraine/Russia war our news channels have not given any coverage of anything else for the last week.

I've just watched a few reports online and it looks absolutely devastating for all the people and properties involved. Hopefully conditions will improve soon and the massive clear up can begin.

Stay safe to all living in the areas affected :onya:
Assumption is the mother of all fuck ups!

Mick_J

Look at the bright side, once your floods have died down we will have a nuclear war to dry things up quickly for you.  :whistling:
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

Mjgt, maybe so. Weve just had a week of incredible rain. London annual in-one night. People still sitting on roof tops 3 days later. Close by area nopower 7 days, could be same until back on. Total disaster. Now told another 8 days of heavy rain. Huge storm as i type. Too scared to ride, gigantic potholes. Not having much fun at present.

Eric GSX1400K3

Stay safe all.our mates in Brissy

Does sound hellish down there guys, good luck.

You know you really should arrange to spread your rain out, not have the lot arrive at once every decade.

seth
