Well - Goldthings are really not my bag but this '82 Aspencrate was only 600bucks - it needs a good going through but does run, tires are good and has a brand new Yuasa battery - I'll put in on a collector plate and go for a summer cruise to see what its like and probably flick it!

Have a Mate,Wally. He bought a new Goldwing, around 2000, aged 60. Maybe a 6 cylinder, not sure. Hes spent the last 20 yrs riding it all around Oz, his opera music going full bore. Reverse gear failed and Honda no charge fixed it. He did 440 th ks first ten yrs, i think its now around 700. Nothing else failed. Not a bad retirement plan, he once went down the road to buy milk, ended up in WA, 4200 ks. Loves his riding, still at it.

My mate had an early Aspencade in his shop in the late 80's & I was tempted to buy it at mates rates. I probably would have but with a sidecar attached and a trailer I had nowhere to keep it all.

Forgot to mention.Wallys son Brad had first model GSX1400. 140 th ks. Hit a roundabout, written off. Only oil changes, tyres, chain n sprockets. Never adjusted tps, throttle bodies, any of the stuff we talk about. Just rode it. Fuel tank rusted out on trip to Moto GP. Its only prob. He wasnt into any maintenance, basic serviced. A good result i reckon, wouldve kept on for lots more, bloody roundabout killed it.
