2008 FE

Hi. I have just purchased a 2008 FE with only 6500miles and very nice condition.
It has the standard twin exhaust though. I thought that they dropped the twin exhaust from 2005 on? I believe that the joshimura (spelling🤓) was a dealer option? Surely though, even if option not taken, it should have a 4:2:1?
The V5 does state GSX1400FE K7.
I'm confused🤨

Yes it should have the 4 into 1 - if it has twin pipes then the previous owners has converted it to that

The twin systems are favoured by many owners, so you'd have no trouble in off loading yours for a single system.   The singles give ever so slightly better power, but the twin system looks more balanced.  It's horses for courses really, converting your bike from a single system to a twin would not have been a cheap exercise for the previous owner.

The 4into1 collector you could get from a dealer still possibly, but I'd keep an eye out on eBay. The absolute original exhaust was a bazooka which owners can't even give away, most having the Yoshi dealer fit option fitted. Not sure that this is still available, again, eBay is your friend.

Here's a couple of options
Black Widow stainless 4 into 1 collector https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154197326786?hash=item23e6e07bc2:g:JQQAAOSwi9ZfsneQ (this is probably better than the OEM one which has a restrictor in it. You can also get the gaskets from Black Widow which are as good as OEM but a lot cheaper). There is an second hand OEM one on eBay but to be honest looking at the condition of it, it wouldn't be my choice.

But if you are in no hurry, just keep an eye on eBay - or put something in the "wanted" section on this forum
