Had a great weekend away with my gold standard pillion passenger. Did the Coromandel loop, staying at a a motel in Coromandel Town. Watched Straya beat the Boks and All Black's beat the Argies two good games.
No Aucklanders on the road, they are still in lockdown level 4. So no idiots on bikes with all the kit and no respect for the centre line. Had our lunch overlooking Kuaotunu Beach.
Rolled into Whitianga and noticed the sky starting to darken so made the decision to hot foot it towards home. In the gate at 5.45......what a fabulous weekend.
That bike is a delight to ride two up but I do need to put those new tyres that I've been talking about on it.
Walking back to the motel after breakfast.
Lots of twisties,15km out of Coromandel.
I think the yellow flowering plant is gorse it thrives here but l think it was a Scottish import.
Not easy getting a park today at Kuaotunu Beach.
Looking across from Whitianga Wharf to Cooks Ferry landing.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Just admiring the blue sky...

What sort of temperature is it at this time of year down there?

11degrees at 6.30 this morning. High of 16 degrees yesterday.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Scenery looks lurvly and not to much different than Wales, one good thing to come out of Covid is to make me appreciate what is on my doorstep much more, no real need to go anywhere else

Agree, we are lucky here too. We have much to enjoy and be grateful for. Would have been one of our best weekends away. Light to bugger all traffic, getting to Coromandel from Thames much of the journey is right on the shore.....leave the road and you're fishing.
We always take a keen interest in TV programs showing countryside in the UK. You blokes also have history, we don't.....200 years max here.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Just about perfect for being on a bike then.

There is very often some "history" in my sights on a ride-out, it's having somewhere different to aim for rather than just riding an over familiar route. A hot sunny day looks nice on the photos but walking up a hill to some ruin in bike gear isn't so much fun.
