A quick zip to the Island - Victoria and Nanaimo first to a memorial for a friend who took assisted termination of life due to overwhelming cancer throughout his organs - he was only 61 and the owner of a bike shop we have known for many years and then up Island to see my son and girlfriend who's father died of a heart attack on Friday! What a weekend to remember!! I count myself lucky!!
Pictures on the ferry and my brothers workshop - he has a few bikes as well and presently doing a nut & both on a '74 CB360

I need to go somewhere I've not been but won't know until I get there!

Nice looking day Stan, shame about the reason for you trip.
Keen to know how those blocks under the bike works on the ferry. As I'm sure you know on our Interislander ferries we tie our bikes down both front and rear.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

What WE do is - as seen - put the bike on the side stand. in gear and jam the 'wedge' under the exhaust. When we cross the Juan de Fuca from Victoria to Port Angeles (USA) they have 'suspending' ties as the weather can be very rough across that stretch of water, like yours between the North/South Islands. The Routes between the Mainland and Vancouver Island is considered shelters waters and if it gets 'rough' (3' seas) the namby pambies in ferry corporation shut the ferries down. For the most part they are not deep sea experienced and tend to get their knickers in a twist first sign of white caps! I have never seen a bike fall over unless of course they get it wrong and crash into another ship (I investigated one such event years ago) and create a 'hard landing' then all hell breaks loose!
