Hi Chaps, I've finally got around to starting the work on my 14 by doing new fork seals and oil last weekend and this weekend will see all new seals going in the front calipers as the brakes are binding badly. If i spin the wheel it will only do about a quarter of a turn and stop dead, so I'm going to pull the calipers off and strip them down to put all new seals in, then flush out all the old fluid and replace with new.  I will probs just use the old pads as the look quite meaty. Anything I should look out for on this or is it straight forward?
ALSO on a different note, I've just bought a 1978 GS750 and I'm looking to restore it but I need the correct paint codes for that year if anyone can help I appreciate it.    T.T.T

Reasonably sure blue was Maui Blue.

You might want to check the fork alignement before your rip the calipers apart... can cause the brakes to bind if the forks have not been re-aligned after a strip down.  I'm sure there is a video on this somewhere...

@ARH  if you are going to pull your calipers apart make sure that you put the seals back in correctly, there is a wrong and a right way. When you take your pistons out put your finger in the cylinder and feel the main seal , you should feel a lip , that is the correct way. Make sure the new seals have that same lip and will be well :onya:

Not much on the GS range of paint codes I'm afraid, best I could find was this if it helps

Thanks for all the replies, I've been told the original colour was red on the GS750 so I'm going to research that later as I'm having an issue with the big 14 at the minute after the front brake service. The back 3 pistons on the off side caliper are refusing to work after I put the new seals in and flushed all the old fluid out and the lever feels very spongy so looks like they will be coming off again and stripped down for a double check, I polished all the pistons and cleaned them thoroughly before assembly and cleaned out the channels with my dremmel/wire brush before putting the seals in. I'm not sure what's going on with them.
The GS750 can wait a few more weeks before I start that one, I'm looking at a GT250 ram air near me as a project as well, just keeping myself busy haha and the wifes happy because I'll be in the garage OUT OF HER WAY... I've added a pic of the last GS750 I had, I spent 3 years restoring it.
