Retarder

Hi regarding the retarder,
How can you tell if its had the modded one fitted. I know this was a common mod when the bike first came out but how can you tell if this has been done, there is a mod you can do to the back plate which has not been done (yet) as there's no point in doing it if the retarder already been changed to the advanced one.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Is there an extra plug in bit, such as in the link, fitted there?

If not, then she is most probably std.  These can also come with a gear indicator, I'm sure you'd know if you had a gear position indicator, so guess that version of TRE can be discounted.

Eric, youre talking about the gear inside cover? Somewhere on here theres pics of stock and 4 degree advanced sold type. I looked but cant find. Someone will. The Healtech ive had for years, gear indicator type. Works for me, couple of hundred bucks, wouldnt not have it.

Thanks for the replies, the pictures was a great help, it determined I have the stock rotor fitted so I have done the back plate mod on it, I've just advanced it by 2° at the moment but still need to take it out for a blast, I'll let you a know how she goes. Once again many thanks. 👌🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Well I took her out for a buzz and decided to advance her another 2°,wow what a difference it makes its so much smoother and crisper. 👌

I had a couple of the old Gen 1 bandits and slotted the backing plate to give them a bit of advance..

Havn't done anything to 14 yet.
