@KiwiCol I'll assume he was towing with a Ringfeder not a fifth wheel turntable. The later would turn the trailer over too. Not a lot of skill involved me thinks, might have been the loose nut behind the steering wheel LOL  :happy1: :happy1: :happy1:

The truck had just turned a marked 55 kmh right hand bend. Yep driver failure.

Log exports...... The Chinese only pay for the small end of the log, so they get all the wood that is the increase in size sll the way down to the butt for free. So we cut them in half (called Shorts) giving a larger small end half way along the log. Now they are paying for more of the same log..
Down side is that they are more unstable to transport because they stack them higher.
Some years ago where l used to live was called the Apata S bends, a truck and trailer carrying shorts turned over on that part of the highway.collecting an oncoming car. The four little white crosses are still there.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Dave you had better make it at least 6 weeks next time you visit.
If Stan toes the line we could invite him too
I promise Mista! Sir! I would do that trip in a heart beat - save up all my pennies!

There's always a bed here.  :onya:
Love Tauranga - in the early '70s I had a terrible back problem on a chemical tanker as Chief Officer in Mount Maunganui and spent an evening soaking in a big thermal pool - loved it!
I was also offered a job that trip in the port as a marine surveyor - at the time it seemed along way from the UK!

Haha, we often walk round the Mount. The Hot Pools have had a couple of refurbishments since then.
Port of Tauranga is now the busiest port in the country.
Ports of Auckland have a new automated container handling system....but the straddle carriers keep bumping into each other
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎
