Nice day yesterday so went for a ride to the Whangamata Beach Hop.
Its not about bikes but because I have been in the car industry since leaving school I have more than a passing interest in them. There were some beautiful cars, you have to admire the skills around the industry and hot rod scene.
I appreciate the hours of prep that goes into producing stunning paintwork, the skill and finesse of the upholsterers that create such fine leather interiors, rat rods, the raw metalwork, the vision, then the ability to produce it. Lets not forget Patina....
That said I could never own one. Spent too much of my life fixing them.

Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

A lovely day there Col!  Beach looks great & those cars do too.  I like the Rat Rod, which is a surprise to me, as I don't usually like that kind of thing, but that one looks great from those couple of pic's.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

Saw a couple of bikes there, not sure which I prefer  :confused1:

Best allrounder I've ever owned 👍

Kingi could you go with the black (fastest and most admired model) if it were fitted with those sexy slip on cans and the orange panniers ?

How the hell does that orange thing go round corners?  Just very slowly would be my guess.

There were quite a number of Harleys there cruising around. Am trying to get my head around why you would have such loud pipes that drown out your really loud stereo

Caus you're an arsehole that likes to annoy everyone ?

grog

Nail on the head Steve. Boulevard riders not far behind. I used to think Contis were loud, not anymore. Sure sounded nice, not like straight outs on Hardlys, terrible.

steve porter

A family friend turned up on one here with straight through pipes, I told him to piss off and don't come back without mufflers, he thought I was joking but he got the message when I wouldn't let him in

grog

Bloke i worked with, spent big bucks making it go. He pressured me to ride it, yeah it could go but i felt so guilty making all that noise in traffic.

steve porter

The older I get, the less noise I want to make around other people, the Yoshi is baffled and I just got a remote for the GT3 that stops the exhaust valve from automatically opening at 4K when I don't want it to

QUOTE

Black is not a color; a black object absorbs all the colors of the visible spectrum and reflects none of them to the eyes. The grey area about black: A black object may look black, but, technically, it may still be reflecting some light.

They've adopted the airbag suspensions, like hotrod cars and can raise and lower the bike. I've seen one that has no stands, he just dumps the air and bike sits on exhausts. @KiwiCol

I'd say thats the case with that Harley. Its a good ride to Whangamata, lots of 25, 35, 45, 55 kmh marked corners and l was thinking how the heck would it get round them. It looked like it was ridden. Bloke l know has been to Sturgis a couple of times, says those things roll out of a trailer 10kms down the road and then ride into town.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎
