My original rear pads were terrible, hardly worked. Were still like new at 40th k. Changed rotor and pads to Metal Gear. Brilliant brake for rear use, wont lock up but so good around town, slow stopping etc. Actually works. Today i had wheel out, pads are nearly finished at 23th ks. Not a long life, must be very soft but ill fit same again. I know lots dont use/bother about rear but i like it to work.

On one of my last bikes it had Brembo's on the rear and they would lock easily.
I tried their pink colour pad which is the softest and bingo, apply continuing pressure for more braking and they would never lock.

IMO Organic are better for the rear @grog  (at least that was my experience with SBS and EBC pads). Bit more "give" on them so they work, but less chance of locking the rear wheel
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

I always go organic in the rear too, for the same reason.

But then I always run organic fronts to make the lever heavier too, so my opinion maybe useless etc etc

Mick_J

I use organic pads all round, no problem with strong braking at both ends.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

I'm not sure my rear brake works  on the odd occasion I've pressed on it it hasn't provided a lot of stopping power.

Searched up on DP brakes today, were recod by Brisbane Suzuki dealer. Hes been selling them for 3 yrs, reckons good. Made in England so i thought for sure you UK blokes would know about them. No one has answered so i guess not popular. Im biting the bullet, just ordered a rear set, $43 landed. They say dust and noise free, will let you know.

SFC1000

How come you aren't using Metal gear again, or are you giving DP a try to compare. Just wondering.

SFC, exactly that, No prob with Metal Gear, short life i thought. 23 th ks, not even being hard. DP say triple life from theirs. Just a change basically, dont like them, know i can go back to Metal Gear. I did same with EBC, threw rear pads in bin after 3 weeks, noisy.

My MetalGear pads are noisy but maybe I just dont remember the,m being quiet when new (they might have been) plus I'm unsure whether the right anti-squeal plate things are actually fitted on my bike.

I tried years ago some Premier Kevlar which I think are their P series organic front and rear on one of my bikes.
They worked great at either end. This was with cast iron rotors.
I think they are Scottish made.

Steve, mine were prob sintered, cant remember. Thinking about it, mustve been as they wrecked the rotor. Still shouldnt have happened but did.
