So as to get $100 off my rego for the next two years l had to complete two training courses within the offer period. The second l completed yesterday in the company of three others. It's an 8hr course, 3hrs theory then a short ride to where we did some braking exercises before heading to a nearby Cafe for a quick lunch, a few observations and suggestions from Glenn our instructor.
We a beauty day out on the bike, certainly our best day of spring so far.
Then we went for a ride round some twisty B roads stopping now and again for some discussion on our riding habits, lines and weight transfer. Learned a lot about road markings, signs and how much you can steer the bike with your feet..
Have done this course four times now, every time learning something new. The courses are subsidised by our ACC, (Accident Compensation Corporation) the course cost me nothing, still normally only $50.00. Thought it a shame there were only the four of us that took up the offer to do the course. All the better for us !!
Had a great day out with some cool guys  :onya:
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

We hopefully never stop learning and thinking constantly whilst riding. @Kiwifruit

As an instructor called Fred Davies says "A thinking rider is a survivor, a non-thinking rider is a statistic waiting to happen"  :whistling:

I hope I can ride for a long long time yet, one of my mentors is 86 and started riding at 60.  :onya: :onya:

I'd like to go beyond 86 but I must reach 80 to start with.  It took me 30 years to obtain my RAF pension and I want the buggers to pay out for longer than it took me to ern it.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

Hooli

I knew someone who knew to the day how long he had to survive to make a profit on his NHS pension. He also had plans for a mailorder wife in his last few years, so she'd get 50% of it as long as she lived & cost them even more

Kiwifruit

You gotta watch those mail order brides Hooli. Have seen them take half what you got long before they could get half of what you get. Often not long after they get mum, dad, sisters, brothers, grandma, grandad to come live in your spare rooms. Not rider training l know, but just as important to remember   :onya:
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎
