Keep an eye out on the age of  your rubber
Folks this was mine on the M20 yesterday.

That looks like it was exciting, pleased you stayed upright.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Glad you're ok, that tyre looks like it's delaminated due to overheating caused up under-inflation.  ie, it went down & you was riding it & destroyed it.  Lucky you didn't get destroyed as well.

I would say that the tyre has had it.  Hope you are okay.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

Sounds like a fair description of me Hooli.  My person, not my tyres.

Does look like its been under inflated when you look at the width of the footprint.

Pressure was correct when I left home. And not even commenting on the straight line hero part.  :boogie:

When was the tyre made...... should be on the sidewall somewhere.

Aged tyres don't generally explode like that though, they just don't grip.  I still reckon you've picked up a puncture (whilst out) not noticed it & ridden on it as it was going flat with the above result.

Or did it just explode on ya as you were going along?

Sweaty

Looking at the damage it has done to the tail light & plate, it's definitely been a big explosion while riding ??

froudy

Nasty..You were lucky to keep it upright and stop safely. Done a fair bit of damage too
Assumption is the mother of all fuck ups!

Looks like a catastrophic failure to me.

As far as I'm aware tyre pressure was ok when I left home. Can't remember running over anything so who knows  but date on the rear was 4810 and the front is 1212. So new set of angle gts going on this week end. Yes got a bit to repair but could have been a LOT worse outcome.
