I bought new HEL Braided lines in 2018 but within a few months they discoloured and HEL replaced them with no quibble last year. I only just put the new ones on - The same problem has occurred , discolouration - faulty batch? The rear and front line from master cylinder to splitter are fine, only the 2 from the splitter to the callipers seem affected ? Awaiting response from HEL  :bugga:

The problem with retirement is that you cant take a day off

Del

is that not heat from the exhaust that may be causing that

I have had a similar problem on one side but there was a leak in that fork seal and I reckoned it was from oil blowing back onto hose.

Bike has only done 50 miles since fitted - the last ones all went, from master cylinder to splitter to each calliper and the rear !!  :bugga:

Looks like rust, you're washing it too much!

Seriously though, it's about the right height for water to catch in the weave?

Notty, put the OEM rubber ones back on or change to gold braided lines, that way you won't see any discolouration.  :whistling: :happy1:

Had the same problem on another bike, the lines went like yours, (I think they might have been a different manufacturer), so I covered them in a coloured heat wrap
.
The ones I bought for the 1400 were a dark colour anyway, so they still look good.

Best allrounder I've ever owned 👍

Notty. Same happened to me. Contact HEL that's a clear fault with the lines. They should replace - they did in my case. Mine all went brown on the insides too.

Originals look better & don't do that  :stir:

Dear me. At least they come with a lifetime guarantee. I just have two front lines - no splitter.

2 longer lines you don't need a splitter easier(ish) to bleed and better performance that way .

only a slightly modified gsx1400
oh and a standard one too

It shouldn't make any difference to performance, you're still moving the same amount of fluid at the master cylinder with the same leverage on the calipers.
