After the news that Royal Enfield will extend their warranty to beyond the lockdown for those affected  I thought I would ask Ducati if they would do the same for my Monster.  Reply from Ducati was (in layman's speak) fuck off, not our fault you cant use your bike.
I'm a bit disappointed as they will expect me to pay for a full service at the two year point.

Any thoughts?

In a way I can understand Ducati`s response, however, they are waaaay out of touch with reality here. They should have extended their terms without hesitation given the current international problems. Any business with a sense of customer care is reviewing their terms and conditions and Ducati are ill advised not to be doing the same.

In a different area of commerce, I`ve just received a full cash refund from British Airways for a return Bermuda flight we had booked, no problems whatsoever. Ducati should be adopting the same approach to customers in terms of their warranties, assuming they want to keep their custom in the future.

The best thing to do with the bike is sell it, and never buy another Ducati.

Erm, why buy a Ducati in the first place??  :confused1:

DP, i have a mate who is Ducati only. Has had lots, always serviced at Ducati shop. Theyve stuffed up so many things over the years but he sticks with them.

The 1200 Monster is a great bike to ride, I really enjoy it.  It's never let me down with only the fuel gauge causing me any problem as it was inaccurate, fixed under warranty.  I am hoping my dealer will cut me some slack if I have any problems.

I think they have missed a trick as I am less likely to buy another as a lot of companies will suffer after this is all over and good customer relations could go a long way to keep some companies afloat.

There's always one smart arse out there, I should have known it would be you  :)
On the other hand I am considering taking an Enfield out for a test run as I quite like to look of them, only down side is servicing intervals are very short and will need at least one service a year, two in some years.

You could buy a spare Enfield with the money you save on a Ducati service !! :)

Probably not far off but it's still over 100BHP behind the fun curve.  :boogie2:
